i think what you're doing is fantastic....the best people are always on a journey of transformation and evolution...and poetry is such a fine thing...it's one of those things that lifts man above his animal state...you've had quite a life sir and no one is more qualified to be putting it all into words..i take my hat off to you.
Great video! I must look into that form. Ironically, I've found myself most creatively liberated when writing in a strict limited form like haiku or tanka. Is it the same for you?
I prefer longer pieces, but some ideas are just not that fully developed when I get them, and, if i do not use them, they kind of wither.
Si-jo is a good use for them. I tend to be a bit verbose, and have only been able to manage one decent senryu and a few tanka. Si-jo allows me to develop an idea a little further without rambling.
