Wow... so glad I found this. Wish there was more from M3. It was my first quake event and was a revalation at the time. I went by Bitstream back then (now Thrusty). I was the kid who bore a resemblance to Carmack. Hung out with Yossman and his brother. Had a blast. Realized that playing with just the keyboard was a terrible idea. Had so much fun meeting a bunch or really great guys. Still remember sleeping on the floor for like an hour only to get right back up and play.
To this very day, whenever I hear the Mortal Kombat theme, Hey Man Nice Shot, and Jump Around; I *immediately* think back to this video. Very nice work. As it's obvious from my nickname, I too am from the old school days of Quake yore.
Thanks for all the great memories.
Oh.... and also, to this day, it bugs the crap out of me seeing that auto-aim is turned on during the first 1/3 of the movie. ;-)
Heck yah! I SO remember this battle and this LAN party! I am Voltas (guy in blue and white) I remember loonyboy, bastard and the hours of fun in this game. I wish you could used "Hay man nice shot" by Filter like in the demo. was a perfect song.
is there a way to get ahold of this original demo file? I searched for it a few years ago and couldn't find it.
@voltariat I DID have Filter along with the rest of the fitting music for this demo. Unfortunately, youtube doesn't believe in preserving nostalgia for the sake of music rights. I don't know where the demo is in my collection, but i think you might be able to find the original .dem file out there. Happy Nostalgia.
