Love DM :-D !!! DM makes the audience feel catharsis!
What about Dave, it's very good to love music, family, but it's very bad to love smoking :-(
By the way, as one professor said, it's very healthy to eat some honey (1spoon) before sleeping ;-) It helps to be in good mood and easier to throw off smoking (and other dependences) ;-)
I love your songs, music, voices :-D !!! Thank you. You make me very happy.
I find it absolutely hilarious that The Cure did a Depeche cover. I remember getting into arguments with my friends who are Cure fans over which band was darker. I must say that the Black Celebration album is darker than anything The Cure ever did.
Why do you find it hilarious? The Cure is my all-time favourite band. But, I must admit that Depeche Mode's songs are slightly darker than The Cure's. My first exposure to Depeche Mode was through their 'Songs of Faith and Devotion' album in 1993. For instance, a song like 'Blasphemous Rumours' on the Black Celebration album is perhaps the most disturbingly moving song I have heard so far from any band/artist.
A band's value is not judged or determined by how "dark" they sound. It is measured by their integrity and their honest approach to music making. If they have a sense of purpose while making music and their songs sound interesting, then they are bound to be genuine musicians. In that sense, both Depeche Mode and The Cure are great bands. They are both unique in their own ways. There is no need for such futile comparisons.
Good God, we were in high school. This was 10 years ago! I like The Cure. They're a great band. I don't compare them now. There's no point. They're completely different.
That covers just showed how great and how much of influence Depeche Mode had on music back than, and most of all Depeche Mode still have great influence on music today.
Sweet Album, great bands....

Both The Cure and Depeche Mode are great bands and I respect Robert Smith for his remarks. So glad my teen years were spent in the 80's!!

I said why. Because in my mind there was a competition between the two, at least with my friends.
And Blasphemous Rumours was on the Some Great Reward album, not BC.

Thank-you for correcting me. I just assumed that it was on the 'Black Celebration' album.
