Awesome vid guys! She'll never forget that day. I can remember doing the same thing when I was little in a stocked trout pond. I won my first pole just like that......It was a Snoopy pole......it reminds me a lot of the pole Adam was using today hahaha. He slammed the bass on it though.
She loved it. And the 3 monster golden's are still there today. That was hard to believe. They are hanging in the deeper water and must be people are having a tough time snagging them. I caught that one nice brown today and lost 2 that were bigger than that. Really caught them too. No lifting.......Yet.

Thanks for the comment!! I hope everything is OK with you guys!! There were 105 kids there this year. We keep gaining about 30 more kids a year. Next year we might have to expand the area of creek for the derby, because it was packed. Thanks for the comments!!
There were close to 300 people there during the derby (including 2 fish comm. officers). Tomorrow he won't be there anymore. I could've done it 100 times if I wanted to. If you want the truth, this is a small creek and we put a TON of fish in here for the kids (now for the public). we put 1000 brookies, rainbows and browns from the local nursery. And 50 or 60 5-11 pounders. It was a ball. And now dad gets to catch some tomorrow!! LOL!!

There were only 3 of the big boys caught today. That golden wouldn't even turn its nose at any bait. He was probably 24".
