  • man i luv anything that is post apocoliptic ! must watch!

  • I see what he means by that being the last bible on Earth very unlikely but Eli explained how the great atomic war was blamed on the Faith Christanity and how the books were hunted to the greatest extent.

  • spoiler douchbag

  • its was the BIBLE not an ipod

  • @cameronus7 Ever thought that he might be being sarcastic?

  • ur a fagget and u look annoying u suck fuck u !

  • have you ever rated a movie 4 out of 4?

  • @wilson0213 he would rate if it is a fagget world movie or something like grease!!

  • it should be called " the bible revival "

  • I don't think he understood that the whole idea was the recreation of the Dark Ages with religion, being that Carnegie represents a Roman Catholic aspect (Mind you, I am Catholic so don't go calling me a discriminant). The 'insane plan' wasn't explained thoroughly because no one would relatively want to hear the whole thing.

  • Looks like fallout

  • @SheldorTheThird Which is based off of Max Mad.

  • Just watched the movie.

Didn't expect the ending but I'm a believer and I love the movie. Danzel played his role very very well!!

The chick was pretty odd at the end, but I'm pretty sure she went to "home" to spread God's word :)

  • this was pretty good. except for one scene that offended me. killin' a cat. and no nude scenes of mila kunis.

  • @BRm2008 Please..It's not a real cat..

Some people get offended so easily -.-

  • well carnegie's plans was kinda like what the the ealy roman catholic church did. You know when catholics were corrupt assholes

  • Every post-apocalyptic movie could benefit from beyond thunderdome as long as they they stop watching it after Max get's sentenced to death. Tell me book of Eli wouldn't have been more badass if he fought what was essentially one of Bioshocks 'Big daddys'.

  • Mila kunis, the bitch ruined the movie IMO, she was just annoying and her at the end was just BS

  • Tunacutter and xboxguy, you are both retarded. Try watching the movie and this time actually open your eyes. Every time he shot someone, they had fired first, he heard where the gunshot was coming from and shot where the person was. He had 30 years of practice you know. He probably had super sensitive hearing so it would have been easy, thats why he didn't shoot that bald guy. He had no way of knowing he was there. The only miracle was that everybody kept missing him.

  • @thepwnd1 God was protecting him.

  • you are a fag

  • I really liked it but I think since Eli does not talk much you just don't get conected to him.

  • SOMEBODY JUST TELL ME WHAT WAS THE GIRL PLANNING TO DO AT THE END?

  • @OzTheGenius Bring a Bible to the East so people can hear about God and get the word spread.

  • The sound design and cinematography was definitely excellent, the direction and story pretty solid, but the underlying christian agenda for this movie really spoiled it for me. The message that we are simple crude idiots that succumb to barbarism without a BIBLE is nonsensical. So humans are passive blind and lost, and believing in God makes magic happen? Magical jesus powers allowed him to recite the entire bible, and magical faith powers made him sense direction and gave him orders.

  • @MyOnlyFarph The movie isn't sending a message that people are "crude idiots that succumb to barbarism without a bible." The movie is showing that without rules, and lack of recourses, people will do just about anything, even if it is barbaric. And the Bible is pretty much a set of rules that not only gives people determination, but leads people on a path to help others. Logically, helping others and working together is the only way to become civilized after a nuclear holocaust.

  • @Tree0rnament @Tree0rnament Based on the direction I have to disagree. The landscape of anarchy they portray is a source of the majority of the conflict, and supposedly the only way to resolve the entire world's dysfunction is to preserve and eventually distribute the bible; basically without the bible humanity is reduced to barbarians without rule, which also implies that the bible is supposedly the only source of morality or spirituality in existence.

  • @MyOnlyFarph Just because you may not believe in Christianity doesn't mean you should think a plot based on Christianity is ridiculous. For example, I don't believe Harry Potter magic is real, but I still enjoyed the movies, regardless of how ridiculous I think it is.

    ~

I'm sick of everything Christian based being criticized, while everything else is considered inspirational, whether it's logical or not.

  • The bible is actually a set of ancient stories that can be interpreted to form a loose sense of morality, but in terms of a straightforward set of rules none of any practical value is present. The fact that you chose Harry Potter works as a good example; the magic is actually logical, limitations and degrees of effectiveness are established. In Eli magic religious powers simply kick in where convenient and allow him to recite the entire bible. Religion based on miracles has no substance.

  • @Tree0rnament exactly and if anyone where to say being muslim is stupid for some reason or another you would be looked down upon and probably thrown in jail for racism haha

  • @xboxguy0105 I did see the movie you fucking scrub. I can tell just by your name "Xboxguy" that you're some dipshit 12 year old that shouldn't even have a Youtube account. He was obviously not completely blind, if you disagree with me I strongly sugge

  • @TheTunaCutter ...suggest researching if Helen Keller could indeed shoot a gun. Don't comment on things unless you know what you're talking about.

  • He's blind....they zoomed in on his eyes and they had the hazel watery look MEANING he's blind. Fuck actually watch the movie next time not just listen.

  • 3 out of 4, sorry but you fail. This movie is clearly a 4 out of 4 if that is your scale. Nothing in this movie dissapointed me at all, and all the points and subtle exchanges, and how Denzel carried himself was actually really amazing.

The twists or revelations of the plot at end made this movie even better, and sure it may have hit home for me, but this film was really something that felt inspiring. :)

  • I liked it. It displayed a true way in how God operates.

  • mila kunis annoying? she wasnt great or anything but if he thinks shes annoying maybe he should watch his own reviews, he's a stiff... movie was pretty damn good. did remind me a bit of fallout

  • just saw this today. loved it! and what i loved most was the soundtrack, i thought it matched great with the movie.

  • He Dies at the end and is blind LOL oops

  • hahahahaha he wasnt blind you dumbass he just could read braille

  • I aint a dumbass lmfao

  • are you kidding? you think a blind man could shoot a gun like that?

  • wow you are really fcking stupid. if you watched the movie you would now that the book guided him. watch the movie before u make retarted comments.

  • to see his hands*

  • The fallout series would make a great film, but the only problem is, it's so different for every player

  • @TheChristianCorpse when i saw the description of this movie i immediately thought fallout

  • same lol

  • @JonR47

    SPOILER

They asked to his hands (and all other outsiders) because some people resorted to cannibalism and those who did's hands would shake. So they didn't serve people who ate other people =/

  • @ElijahClayton

thanks! i was wondering what that meant the whole movie through lol

  • whats the song at 1:45 ??

  • why wud u rate it out of 4 ? why not 5 or even 10 stars

  • I grew up seeing reviews that totaled in 4 stars from Roger Ebert and TV Guide. My system of 4 augments those by including a progressive elevation from each star. So a 4 is actually twice as good as a 3, as opposed to being twice the quality of a 2.

I don't travel to YT often, this is just a place that happens to remote cross-post some of my videos. I answer questions at venues which have a more direct benefit to myself such as Twitter of my site.

  • The whole totally blind thing about Eli is "BS", read the wikipedia summary of the movie it says he's "partially blind" why else would he tell the engineer guy he'll stay and keep watch of his stuff at the shop.

  • **SPOILER**

Alright people I have the answer for you.

Yes, he was blind the whole movie.

Reason#1: In the beginning he smelled the hand coming towards him and remember when he says,"I can smell thieves(or whatever he said) from a mile away.

Reason#2: He was reading the bible in moors code the whole time.

    Hope that helps.

  • *SPOILER*

he was reading it in braille not morse code.

  • sorry, i get them mixed up a lot

  • keeper of the last second-generation ipod. okay...

  • BUT EITHER WAY, KICKASS MOVIE!!!!!!!

  • at the end, I he looked like he was only blind in one eye, which made sense to me. but was he blind in both???????????

  • 3 outa 4 stars. Why does he review outa 3 starts.

    Who does this?

    can someone explain?

  • The black and blind version of Neo is being protected by God to preserve the last copy of The Bible..... horrible movie.

  • *SPOILERS*

Why is everybody wearing glasses in the movie??? and why did he turn blind at the end? a friend of mine is convinced that he was blind throughout the whole movie...was he?

  • yes, he was blind

  • @JonR47

MAJOR SPOILER. DO NOT READ. ONLY ANSWERING QUESTION!

We're not quite sure how or when he turned blind. One can assume it was because of that big hole in the sky that caused the sun to destroy everything. Everyone wears sunglasses because when the sun first hit, it caused ppl to go blind because of it's intesity. now, with no protecting atmosphere(there is a hole in the sky) everyone needs to protect their eyes so they can see, thus the sunglasses

  • @SingThatMELODY

    cool! thanks a lot

looks like I just lost a bet :(

  • @JonR47

    SPOILER

Although they never come out and say it (obviously), it's pretty clear that he is blind throughout the duration of his journey (and maybe even before then). There are various clues throughout the movie that support this. ; )

  • @ElijahClayton

yeah now I realise. Like that part where theyre all shooting at him, I noticed that he waits for them to shoot first then he shoots them. ahh things make sense now ahha thanks!

but one last thing, why do people in the village ask him to show the top side of his hands? Is there some kind of disease?

  • Another excellent review!! Keep up the great work Vaughn! Thats funny about the new mic...lol...

  • I'm subscribing JUST because of the Reading Rainbow sound effect.

  • are you stupid? the movie was shit.

  • @ShadowPaki

    What makes you say that?

  • Holy smokes..he finally likes a movie.

  • @PublicICON he liked daybreakers too. i think he gave it 3.5/4

  • this movie was crap movie rating 1 star of 5

  • Just saw this somewhat strange and awesome film.

BTW, dude, at 2:13 that arrow was piercing your neck man, die, die-- just kidding but poor kitty_ha!

  • o.... my bad... 2:11

  • Now I notice it every time.

  • yo @ 2:13 i really thought u were gonna get pierced by that arrow... kinda disappointed when it didnt happen... lol jp

  • lol, b4 u said beyond thunderdome i was SOOOOO thinking Mad Max

  • But BTD is where Max enters a corrupt town, just a tad more similar.

  • this critic sucks ass. i mean the toughest? wow someone who stands in front of a plain wall and gets less than 500 views. ya toughest critic ever bull shit

  • It's obviously an enchanted wall. The less than 500 views statement is news to me. Last video has hit 4k on YouTube alone.

  • r u like gay?

not trying to be mean but ur like a prisy.

  • oh okay my bad on the views...seriously sorry.

but you call yourself the the toughest critic? ha i am tougher. please dont even call yourself that. atleast make better reviews and have a more interesting background. your whole setup looks so low budget. Atleast make it look like you know what you are doing...amateur

  • Consider this. My videos are so "amateur" that you think that's an actual wall, not a CGI model I programed then imported into a composite shot. I've looked around and I'm confident my setup looks as high in production value as any on this site. Also, my degree and experience holds up for most in establishing that I know what I'm talking about.

  • okay a fake wall...thats any better. I am no amateur. I know EXACTLY what i am talking about, so when i say your little..."production" is cheap, it is cheap. A degree doesn't give you experience, the actual actions do. Special schools for example who actually teach you.

  • i've looked at your channel and see nothing impressive, nothing to suggest that you have any idea what you are talking about. jsut your unsupported word against his which as you can see does have solid evidence. shut it before someone makes your faggot ass

  • my channel sucks. thats all with my phone camera. if you want to see something impressive you should take a look at what i have made with an actual editing system and expensive cameras

  • Great movie enjoyed it, much better than I had hoped for, Great review as always!!

  • the guy who wrote the film was on the 4guys 1up podcast not long ago, should try find it and check it out anyone who is interested.

film looks great, and nice review :)

  • i like his new direction

  • looks like something out of the Fallout universe.

  • not realy

  • I hope you're not going soft Vaughn and giving generous reviews to win popularity from fan boys and pissed off avatar fans

  • Two films in a row that you've have mostly positive things to say about a movie that, based on the trailer, looks awful. Interesting. However, I don't know if a feature film of Wicked Game is exactly the type of cinematography I'm looking for. Thanks!

  • Congrats on getting this review up, after all your internet/Mac issues - BTW, It's Vangelis - G as in Gettysburg, rather G as in jelly!

  • Just a quick note, that "cool, monotone look" is not cinematography, it's color correction.

  • It's an inside joke.

  • Glad to see you're back.

  • Good review man keep it up
