  • That gorgeous slow movement just made my night...

  • The way he plays it makes it sound so cheerful!

  • @NiniMushu i enjoyed this, and i agree it does sound very cheerful... but i also think that for what mr. Rose is capable of in technique he is lacking in soul. The whole first movement sounded the same.

  • Мне очень понравилось!а кто играет?очень красиво!

  • nice;)

  • just the best :)

  • It's always nice to hear a teacher (Leonard Rose) of one of my cello teachers (Yuan Tung) play. I read recently that this sonata is not really by Sammartini but instead by a Frenchman named Martin Berteau. I guess that's why it has felt more French to me than Italian.

  • @cellolee My teacher (Ken Lurie) is a student of a student of Leonard Rose as well. Not sure the name of My teachers teacher. Really love this piece Im playing for a recital soon.

  • @celloman300 Felix Salmond was a teacher of Leonard Rose, if that is who you were wondering. I see that John Sant'Ambrogio also studied with Leonard Rose. John Sant'Ambrogio and Yuan Tung were stand partners in the St. Louis Symphony for a number of years.

  • Just started practicing this piece! I really like it, and it's quite challenging!

  • I need to play it like him! It's wonderful, played with unworldliness and energy, I can't believe my ears!

  • i'm playing this piece right now

    this guy's pretty good :D
