  • the day headshops closed, unscrupulous black-market drug dealers rejoiced !! Stop wasting state resources !! Legalize, tax, regulate, make the world a safer better place for everyone !!

  • its all being sold now illegally and der is so much money outa it.......wel done to the ppl who got headshops closed down

  • These people make me so angry.Of course these are regulated i can find whats in alot these on the internet. What about Irelands drinking problems. What about weed your allowing methodrone(how ever you spell it).I think the blind are thrown over kids eyes and there not prepared when they try this stuff.

  • ANGERS ME TO LISTEN TO THOSE WOMEN.

Beibhinn is 100% correct in my opinion.

young people should be educated at HOME about the dangerous of drugs etc.

everyone SHOULD have the choice of what they want to do with THEIR bodies.

  • Beibhinn hit the nail on the head. The other two are the typical scaremongers that we see all to often in the media and on the phone to Joe Duffy. If we're gona make headshops illegal, then lets shut down the pubs and tobacco shops.

  • Listen to this bullshit. They think they're protecting young people haha my god. Protecting them from what? Exploring their minds and possibly learning something? The thought of young experiencing an altered state of consciousness and gaining some insight into the mechanisms of their mind and reality itself and having a good time in the process just sickens me.

  • The main concern of these women seems to be young people taking head shop products... So why not introduce a age limit instead of banning it for everyone?

  • @Slyboy4life why don't these old hags just mind their own fuckin business.

  • 3 fucking auld ones listening to joe duffy the indgredients are on the packet but suppose the poor dealers where getting poor bring on rat posion wohoo and sorry anytime i went to head shop i was id and im not a baby faced mid 20's never id for alchol idiots how many young ones are pumped out at the weekend eeerrr i hate this country sometimes

  • watch?v=lnQglFrmm9g

  • The pro criminalise lobby can't get their heads around regulation. What's the problem with following best practice. If they sell to under-age then they get closed down. They should be selling weed and ecstacy. Criminalisation is a case of beggar thy neighbour.

  • mmmmm elaine crowley

  • Dear god some of the drivel out there. Fact is fact. Legal highs are untested and as such unsafe.

Illegal highs, are, for the most part, safe if made accessible in a regulated and educated manner - just look to portugal, bolivia, spain, netherlands and a rake of other countries to see this. The evidence is out there, its not opinion, it's scientific fact.

If there was pure MDMA and weed around without any of the legal hassle noone would be using mephedrone. Both safer than alcohol or tobacco.

  • that brown haird girl is the only one there with an open mind. everything she said about holland is true and we are 10 to 15 years behind them in a lot of ways.

  • yeah i gotta agree Weed should be Legal weed is not as bad as loads of the stuff u get from head shops if it was legal there would be no need for head shops its stupid

  • why are these clowns discussing this...... stick to shoes, the road to limerick is paved with good intentions

  • disgrace Typical Ireland tho you can drink all you want but dont smoke a bit of herb tut tut

  • prohibition never works control and regulation is d only way

  • and banning them is just gonna drive people to the dealers on the street

  • @theblahman . Thats just what that bully Dermot Ahern wants you to do.

  • well i think frankieteatime says it right down below, they should be legalising things which have had medical examination that have proved them benificial like cannabis if they are so concerned over the lack of studies on these ones instead of just banning verything, people should have a choice, its a human right and the government could at least make sure its regulated so its safer and cleaner, so the outlaws dont make the money,

  • i honslty believe that if that government legaslise cannabis that the tax made on it can easily take us out of recession, course the ould irish biddys will be furious, but peolpe will sill get their hands on it, so why not make the money, heaven knows they need it

  • this is all a bit of a hypocracy, just cause a few parents give out the rest of us have to suffer, its my personal belief that head shop drugs are being blamed instead of illegal drugs, if a kid ends up in a bad way due to taking illegal drugs would be to suprising that he blames the legal drusa instead of the illegal ones just so th grilling his folks give isnt as bad, the smoke alternatives are cleaner and non dangerous in my experience

  • Yeah thats right you fools just ban it dont bother researching it then if its found fit for human consumption regulating it, just ban it all under some vague law that encompasses loads of stuff.

  • just legalize cannabis, its a NON TOXIC plant that doesn't even kill brain cells. Thats right it doesn't kill brain cells. Every single scientific study has proven this. Its every individuals own moral choice to use drugs and the government has no right to interfere in peacful people's personal lives.

  • @FrankieTeaTime

Moral choice? If people are happy why would they need to take anything? If you need to take anything you obviously haven't a fulfilling life!

  • @FriendlyIrish yes it is a moral choice. What do you think a moral choice is? Millions of happy people take drugs. They don't take them because they are sad, they take them because they want to experience something different. They want to alter their perception temporarily. It can be good fun. I personally don't do drugs exept alcohol and cannabis which is a decision I make for my self and no government has the right to use force on me for making that choice. It's my life not theirs.

  • @FrankieTeaTime

Yes it's your choice. I just don't understand why anyone would want to alter their perception at all. I like to keep mine clear at all times. But you are not me.

  • @FriendlyIrish

its good fun to alter your perception now and then but like anything, if you do too much it can become a bad buzz and have negative effects. if you drink alcohol then you should understand what it feels like to alter your perception. Alcohol is a mind altering drug. I just think that cannabis should be legal because its less harmfull than alcohol or tobacco and it actually has many benefits. We create cannabanoids naturally in our bodies anyway so why ban what we already create

  • @FrankieTeaTime

I don't believe in drinking alcohol to alter perception. I don't do it either. If it alters the mind, too much has been drank. Cannabis can be harmful in large amounts over time, causing paranoia and break downs. Both in moderation are acceptable and yes I agree if alcohol is legal, so should cannabis be.

  • @FrankieTeaTime

It may just happen that people we speak to on YouTube have altered their perceptions at a certain time we speak to them, on a different day we would get different response without altered perception. It is an issue.

  • @FrankieTeaTime

I think people who adopt the attitude "it's my life, not theirs" are thinking that way because they need to and the substance is enforcing that. For those of us who do not take any substances it would not effect us. People shouldn't want or need a substance so bad that they need it. I am not saying cannabis should not be legalized as I believe it should but I do not take it, so it does not reflect a need in me for it to be legalized. There's a difference.

  • people like these make my blood boil such idiots

  • flange

  • That poor women getting ganged up on by the four illogical and rude biddys sitting around her. Im tired of this continued argument that legal drugs are so dangerous because we dont know whats in them. research isnt neccesarily going to change people. Look at alcohal and fags.Plenty of research into them,we know the affects on society and on humans in the longterm..and still over 100,000 still die every year from them.

  • Im 21 and still get asked for id in head shops. Kids cant just walk in and buy them. Legaise weed and theres no need for most of these legal highs.

  • u have to be over 18 to even go into any headshop..any one's ive been in anyway..headshops are grand.. leave them alone

  • legalize weed

  • we should be able to do what we want free weed keep headshops open

  • Stupid people.

So the comedown from skank legal drugs is bad?

    So dont buy them anymore!

They sell dirt chemicals that are untested. The most a nanny state should do is test the drugs and find out what is safe and what isnt.

Then label the dangers on the drugs and move on.

Only an idiot would buy a drug labelled 'bad high, really bad comedown, causes blindness' and if they chose to they deserve the effects.

Cigarettes kill people but they are legal.

Lets not be a nation of cowardly hypocrites.

  • outlining the responsible use of drugs: how, when and why to use them, be it LSD, cannabis or whatever. Nothing. Its just this 'mammy knows best, dont do it; which exacerbates the problem and is part of the reason why the drug advice given in this country is so worthless.

    Legalise, Regulate, Educate.

  • Mammy does not know best. Prohibition has failed completely and all we want is to be able to buy regulated drugs without fear of persecution/contamination/dealers and to be socially acceptable in doing so. Prohibition forces users indoors and into a sub culture of anonymity. Why cant people accept that intoxication is ...a shared human demand and we should all want each other to engage in such activities in a safe, responsible way? To my knowledge not 1 official document has been released ....

  • the piece at the end proved her point i think. 14yr old kids carrying drugs and guns for gangs which wouldn't exist if drugs were legal

  • Alcohol was found to be a factor in almost half of all cases of sexual assaults on adults according to a major survey of sexual assault and violence in Ireland. In such cases, where only one party had been drinking, the perpetrator of the sexual assault was the one drinking in the majority of cases (84% of female and 70% of male sexual assault cases)

  • Alcohol‑related disorders were the third most common reason for admission to Irish psychiatric hospitals between 1996 and 2005

Alcohol use is often a factor in suicidal behaviour. In 2006/2007 alcohol was a factor in 41% of all cases of deliberate self-harm

One Irish study of people from three counties who died as a result of suicide, found that more than half had alcohol in their blood

    Alcohol and Crime

  • Taken from a forum discussion I came across:

    Alcohol and Driving

Drink driving offences increased by 74% between 203 and 2007, from 11,421 to 19,864

In the period from 2003 to 2005,

approximately 120 people were killed each year in alcohol-related crashes

In the same period, almost one third (31%) of crash deaths were alcohol-related

  • @diggyd you tellem' Beibhinn !!!

  • is she havin a fit or sumthin

  • MAKE WEED LEGAL!

  • 07.50 .. Silly blonde woman, does she not understand that one standard alcoholic drink is far worse than a cannabis joint in health effects. She is clearly the uneducated idiot, read fucking book, and learn the facts.

  • @YoungRawhide

It's mental. Now I know why they call it TV3 - three idiots for every sensible person!
