Why the fuck does everyone have this superstitious hatred against game-movies? Listen, a game series wont come to a catastrophic end because they decided to make a friggen film ok? Its an expansion of an already awesome franchise. If you dont like it 'cause its not 100% exactly like the game(aka being ORIGINAL), or a certain actor is involved or whatever fucking reason, then just forget about it, and play the games instead. The series isnt "ruined" unless you somehow convince yourself it is.

I wouldn't call it superstitious hatred, that's not the right term because that would imply bad game to film adaptions don't exist which obviously they do. Film directors have to take a non-linear interactive experience and try to shoehorn that into a linear narrative with disappointing results. Just look at the Resident Evil movie franchise with its predictable plot line throughout.

@pricture The casting is vitally important for any film but I reckon Jason Statham or Sam Worthington would do an excellent job. Just like when fans say a certain movie is faithful to the original source material whether its a book or a comic, the same should apply to game-film conversions.

The Mass Effect movie should be CGI to match the overall aesthetic. The world doesn't need another live action Max Payne, Streetfighter or Mortal Kombat starring the muscles from Brussels. A cameo voiceover by Jason Statham would be amusing though.

They should use CGI instead of actors for the Mass Effect movie. Take the Batman Archam city trailer for example. The CGI looked so real i thought they where real people untill i saw Hugo Strange at the end.

I believe we are entering a time where the actor will become obsolete. Computers can do everything better and at half the coast of actors.

Movie adaptations of games tend to be really, REALLY crappy. Take the Doom series for instance. I really don't think the Mass Effect series needs a movie, since picking a canon ending for the movie kinda ruins all of the possible endings and choices you can make in the entire trilogy.
