  • This is just amazing. I'm in absolute awe at your rendition of the song.

  • @evilangle99 Thank you.

Most of my youtube activity is experimental/work-in-progress/demo sort of stuff.

All these affiramtive comments are most encourging.

    Good wishes.

  • Love it!! Thanks for posting!!

  • @Leadingnorth Thanks for listening/watching!

  • Excellent rendition! That really took me back.

  • @usmc451 Thank you.

  • Thanks for looking, and I am pleased it generated fond memories.

  • I love this so much. It reminds me of when my grandfather, who was in the navy, would sing songs to me as a kid.

  • This is a wonderful rendition! I generally prefer it at a faster tempo, but this is lovely nonetheless!

  • @PlushyPirate Thank you. My fingers can't navigate the concertina much faster!

  • great rendition. Added to my music playlist

  • Many thanks.

    Enjoy.

  • Lovely! And nice explanation in the comment box, nolicnotrut, oddly enough I haven't noticed the geographical description in the song before. Thanks for sharing this.

  • Many thanks.

  • NOT getting lost is precisely what the song is about!

The lyrics accurately follow the geography of the English south coast.

For 'dead man' read 'Dodman', then Ram Head and proceed eastwards!

The 'downs' does not refer to the mainland hills. It's an area of shallow sea off the coast of Kent. (I think!)

    Many thanks for your comment.

  • Very nice. A song to get lost in.
