These are not Lusitano nor Lipizzaner. they are French mustangs," Camargue" horses. they live in the marshs where you see them here. He trains them for their intelligence and loyality once tamed from the wild. the herds are wild but owned by specific people in france. They know how to treat their wild horses much better then the United states does. He is trully one of the worlds finest horse people.

I'd love to see his show in U.S... but as far as I heard he doesn't want to inflict such a stress to his horses by transporting them across the Atlantic. That's why they say he only performs in Eurasia. I respect such decisions... oh well, this only means that I'll have to start "walking towards the mountain, not the other way around"! :)

wow, now that i look at it closer, i see that his horses aren't mad and at parts they are only playing aggression. that is amazing though!!! im trying to work on that with my horse...good luck though-she's a moody filly, was in with her moody mother for a year and 3/4 longer. the owners gave her to me when she was 2 3/4-they're renting some of our land.

i dont think his horses like him too much..any time he's around them they have their ears back flat against their heads.

When he has the horses pursuing him, the pinned ears are a play aggression response. The horses are having fun, if you have ever had a horse chase you for his grain bucket (a bad idea) you would see the same ear position. When he is on their backs, the ears pointing toward him indicate that he has their full attention, and any true horseman strives to have his horse focused in this way. Lorenzo could never do what he does without tremendous respect and cooperation from his horses.

Amazing What He Can Do With Those Horses!!

Don't get me wrong-I think this guy is good & has a unique place in the horse world but did anyone else-especially horse people-notice some of the expressions on the horses? At 3:20 the ears R pinned back & he doesn't look happy. There's also some angry tail swishing & they look mad when they bump into each other over jumps.

It's important to make sure your horse is happy in life & not going sour. Besides that I'm sure he has a lot of great training techniques he could teach us.

It's not necessarily "angry" tail swishing. You should try looking into a horse's normal herd behavior before you go "aaaaaw poor horses".

I just saw this guy for the first time today and I could see him acting as if he was the herd leader, the stallion, so to speak. This bunch just works like a herd, and if the horses did not trust him to lead them to a good place, they would not follow him, but challenge him. I've not seen him be challenged ONCE, so I think he's established his position.

If you notice in dressage there is a lot of tail swishing and ears pinned back. I don't think it's a matter of the horse being angry at all. Depending on the horse it could be concentration or something similar. These horses apparently trust him and genuinely love him or I doubt they would do anything for him.
