Yes and Yes. They don´t have specific animations for tactical reloads. I think they don´t even simulate the remaining round remaining in the chamber. It just gets magically moved to a different mag, I guess... haven´t played this in a while, though, I might be wrong. Too busy playing Arma 8)
i just traded this piece of shit in for modern warfare 2 - i prefer the idea behind dragon rising, but it doesnt fucking work - atleast MW2 actually works, you shoot someone, they die, you try to join a game, it lets you - bought dragon rising for 37 quid, i got 20 trade it - shite.
dude ten of my friends bought this, we all love the battlefield series, been playing them since the very beginning - we couldnt wait for this game, we were talking about it nearly every day - we thought it would be like battlefield but ultra-realistic, its sooo not - the map isnt "completely open", you cant use all the weapons, the vehicles are just terrible glitchy buckets, to be able to explore the whole map itll cost like 100 bucks in DLC - out of the ten of us 8 of us have traded it in. crap
The whole realism thing went out of the window as soon as they showed the E3 demo with the red barrels, and the now infamous "I´ve taken a hit to the head..." monologue.
This game was kind of blown out of proportion, given the wrong brand name and the wrong marketing tactic (ie, DLCing all fixes), and the result is a pretty big disappointment, all in all.
the final straw was during the 4th mission, you have to clear out some machine gun nests - my mates went to kill the AT teams and i went to kill the machine gun nests - snuck up behind them, which took ages 'cos they were miles away - crept up behind the first machine gunner, put my pistol to his head - fired twice in quick succesion, pop pop, once in the head and once in the neck - did he die? NO - he turned round and shot me, killed me with one shot - that was the final straw, got rid of it
Yeah, the pistol is useless in this game. I never use the pistols in Arma either, except as a complete last-ditch-measure once I´m out of ammo, but in DR they´re really a joke.
And the hit detection/dealing of damage is kind of flawed in that game. The only surefire way to kill somebody is with a grenade to their feet.
Can you fire on single shot?
Is the weapon cocked everytime you reload, even though there's a round chambered?

Wow :( sorry to hear.
I´ve had the luck that someone I knew bought this, so I actually was able to play the full version before the demo came out.
So I agree, it was a disappointment front to back, especially after CMs shamelessly overhyped marketing campaign.
And that they sort of put one of the only two good missions in the campaign into the Demo doesn´t make it any better either, I have to add.
