I forgot to mention one more thing. The flag "waves" a little simply because the astronauts setting it up wobbled it, and in the low gravity and negligible atmosphere, their movements shake it more than it would have on earth.

there's no stars because the moon is so bright that it outshines star light, you'll get the same effect on times squre. you can not see the stars there because of the light.

OK, a little kid could understand this. There is an aperature inside the camera. You know, the little box with a lens on it. The aperature controls how much light reaches the film. Are you with me so far? While on the moon, the Sun is shining brightly. It is day time on the moon. So the ground is VERY bright. Because of this, the aperature on the camera closes as to not let much light in. It closes so much that you can't see the stars. Look at space shuttle pics, same thing.

When Armstrong got on the porch before coming down the ladder, he pulled a lever opening the LEM hatch where the camera was mounted. Alrdin turned the system while still inside. No, it's not. As someone that old, yes we did have the technology. Look at a shuttle spacewalk this week. You won't see stars. It's called "contrast," the stars don't give off enough light to be captured by even today's HDTV cameras in space. Sorry, this is basic 3rd grade science you're failing.

Interesting, when the feed was first turned on, it was upside down and Mission Control had to flip the image so we could see the picture in the correct orientation.

You only see the liftoff of the lunar module a couple of times, and that was courtesy of the camera that was mounted on the lunar rovers. Only on Apollo 17 does the camera rise to follow the LM during liftoff. The camera on Apollo 16 was stuck.
The camera on the rover was remote control so it could better follow astronauts during their EVA's. On liftoff, the operator had to anticipate about three seconds to give the commands time to be executed by the rover's camera system.

The camera that filmed Armstrong was mounted on one of the Lunar Module's legs. It began recording when Armstrong pulled a ring that was located near the LM door/ladder that was connected to a wire that was connected to the record/"on" mechanism of the camera. The flag moves because of the astronauts movements. As you noted, there is no wind on the moon but the laws of physics don't change. Ask some obvious questions. How do you keep such a secret when over 400,000 people were working on the project? Why wouldn't Russia expose us? They were in the race, too, and lost. And what do you say about NASA's efforts to go back? Is the agency lying about that too?

It was no exciting back then whenever a rocket took off for outer space. Every kid (male kid) I knew wanted to be an astronaut. Neil Armstrong was THE MAN back then..until Steve Austin the 6,000,000 man came along ;)
Actually, you see both astronauts. There was no helmet-cam for Apollo. Keep in mind we're dealing with 1969 television technology. Helmet-cams were developed much later for the space shuttle program. There was a TV camera attached to a support brace that was deployed by the crew before Armstrong and Aldrin crawled down the ladder. After they were on the surface, they set up one TV camera away from the lunar module.
You wouldn't the contract is too great to see stars in the sky. This is 1960s technology. If you notice, you don't even see craters. Conspiracy theorists try to tie contemporary digital technology to what was available in 1969. Even today's producers will tell you they cannot duplicate the imagery of the video from the moon. Bottom line, bad conclusions are based on bad science and a fundamental love of intrigue.

They have been on the moon after this. lastest was apollo 17 in 1972 where Gene Cernan walked on the surface.
They haven't gone up there since because NASA chose to work on the next experiment which is the international space station.

OK, a little kid could understand this. There is an aperature inside the camera. You know, the little box with a lens on it. The aperature controls how much light reaches the film. Are you with me so far? While on the moon, the Sun is shining brightly. It is day time on the moon. So the ground is VERY bright. Because of this, the aperature on the camera closes as to not let much light in. It closes so much that you can't see the stars. Look at space shuttle pics, same thing.

Do some research before deciding you know what happened. The camera was mounted inside the descent stage of the LEM. When Armstrong got on the porch before coming down the ladder, he pulled a lever opening the LEM hatch where the camera was mounted. Alrdin turned the system while still inside. Stick to fact and not conspiracy silliness.

No, it's not. As someone that old, yes we did have the technology. Look at a shuttle spacewalk this week. You won't see stars. It's called "contrast," the stars don't give off enough light to be captured by even today's HDTV cameras in space. Sorry, this is basic 3rd grade science you're failing.

That's because the camera unit was attached it the decent stage of the lunar module. Buzz Aldrin, who was still in the LM, lowered the camera into position. Interesting, when the feed was first turned on, it was upside down and Mission Control had to flip the image so we could see the picture in the correct orientation.

Jimsterz They left a remote controlled camera behind so that they could see the LM taking off from the moon. It was controlled by a man back in nasa and he had to move the camera up a few seconds before to catch the LM taking off.(Because of the delay from the Earth to the Moon.)

You only see the liftoff of the lunar module a couple of times, and that was courtesy of the camera that was mounted on the lunar rovers. Only on Apollo 17 does the camera rise to follow the LM during liftoff. The camera on Apollo 16 was stuck.

The camera on the rover was remote control so it could better follow astronauts during their EVA's. On liftoff, the operator had to anticipate about three seconds to give the commands time to be executed by the rover's camera system.

1) There are no stars in any spacecraft photos.(mercury, gemini, apollo, skylab, space shuttle, galileo, cassini, selene, chang'e, voyager, etc.. ANY photos) In photography, exposure value determines what is recorded or not.

The camera that filmed Armstrong was mounted on one of the Lunar Module's legs. It began recording when Armstrong pulled a ring that was located near the LM door/ladder that was connected to a wire that was connected to the record/"on" mechanism of the camera. Do some research before you decide to make stupid comments.

The flag moves because of the astronauts movements. As you noted, there is no wind on the moon but the laws of physics don't change. Ask some obvious questions. How do you keep such a secret when over 400,000 people were working on the project? Why wouldn't Russia expose us? They were in the race, too, and lost. Actually, you see both astronauts. There was no helmet-cam for Apollo. Keep in mind we're dealing with 1969 television technology. Helmet-cams were developed much later for the space shuttle program. There was a TV camera attached to a support brace that was deployed by the crew before Armstrong and Aldrin crawled down the ladder. After they were on the surface, they set up one TV camera away from the lunar module.

Conspiracy theorists try to tie contemporary digital technology to what was available in 1969. Even today's producers will tell you they cannot duplicate the imagery of the video from the moon.
