Get a Marshall Plexi amp and set it to:

Volume 7; Volume II 2; Bass 1; Mid 10; Treble 9; and Presence 2.

The cabinet is also going to need some adjustments too. Move the mic slider 80 percent to the right on mic B and the Dry/Air mix to 3.31. The master volume on the cab should be at 7.

Unfortunately they don't rock quite that hard anymore. Not to say they aren't still kickin ass, but gibbons' solos lack the "fire" I guess age gets everyone. Gotta give the guy props though, ripping sweet licks at the ripe old age of 61. Rock on ZZ top!

Billy G one of the most underrated guitar players of all time in my opinion. Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits was so impressed with him AND frustrated that he couldn't reproduce the guitar sounds of Billy Gibbons that he asked Billy G to jam with him privately (really to show Knopfler how is what is rumored) and Billy being a nice guy obliged. Some short time later Dire Straits newest release was a smash with the hit "Money for Nothing" and does the opening riff sound familiar to gibbons fans?

I can't get over how good these guys are live. I love how they wind the song down at the end and how good Gibbons is with the effects that he adds (I bought a flanger the day after watching this performance for the first time). No wonder why they drew so many people during their tours in the 70's. They could improvise for 5 years, you wouldn't get bored and they'd make it seem effortless.
