I always imagine a Steamtrain when I hear this music - because the drama is set against the backdrop of world war one, a time of fast-moving change in society, it fits with the constantly moving storyline. Genius.

@ThreeGums I believe you are referring the the instrumental piece that accompanied the TV promos for the series in Australia? The piece was 'Bring Me to Life' by Evanescence, but of course, without any vocals. They chopped and pasted parts of the original piece to create an arrangement that was suitable for the short trailer.

The soundtrack for downton abbey is unreleased, the composer is John Lunn, the title is unamed, dont know if the soundtrack will be released.

I've never liked period drama's or films but this one show has been awesome, I downloaded the whole series for my mum who missed it on TV and I ended up watching it all myself before I put them on to DVD for her.

Now I can't wait for them to start on season 2 which from what I understand they start filing in March of next year, and on topic the theme on song for the series fits in perfect with the whole show.
