I was there!!! A sunny Sunday summer's afternoon in a field, and my first time watching the Whigs. It was the live version of this song that first got me hooked on the band. Now, sixteen-and-a-half years on, I'll be off on Monday to see the Twilight Singers play a small cabaret bar in Brighton. Should be rather good...
This is hands-down the best live version of this song I've seen yet.. Which; by chance, happens to be my favorite Whigs song. I still love it today as much as I did twenty years ago. This song is pure musical genius.
Duli sounds better here than on the original recording.
This song has the best energy. I remember going to see the Whigs and looking forward to seeing this song but also dreading it because it meant the night was coming to a close.
Also, Greg is unbelievably sexy in this video. I hate commenting on the looks of artists I admire, but in this case I can't help it. He is/was peerless.
i would give my left arm to have see them on the gentlemen tour! seriously good album that not enough people heard. This song is so much more powerful live.
I saw them twice on the Gentleman tour - in Raleigh and then in Chapel Hill (both NC). Amazing band. I was lucky enough to see them on the Black Love and 66 tours also. Hands down the best fucking band of the 90's.
the hows the whens the whys :(

Any song with the phrase "don't forget the alcohol" is going to be memorable.

This is one of the only good things I can think of about being old enough to have seen the Afghan Whigs live multiple times. : )
