We should keep it positive people. Gloria was doing a tribute and Jlo helped to keep her memory alive and transition her into the American market. Because of Jlo the world knows who Selena is. Of course if Selena was alive she would of made that impact herself had she had the chance. She was on the road to becoming one of the biggest entertainers of our time and to me she had reached that. Being a Corpus Christi native & from Selena's home town I must say and agree with the majority of comments... Selena was a beautifully, and naturally talented artist/individual not only did she guide and influence a plethora of striving artist both young and old. She was an actress, designer, community figure (still is). I'm not saying that any of the people that spoke do not have thier own talent, BUT Selena' surpassed THEM ALL BY MILESTONES!! It was heart-wrenching for it to be so short lived.

Why is everyone comparing Whitney Beyonce and Mariah to Selena? The thing Selena has over all of them is that she can sing in Spanish and English. They only sing in English.
