I hope that the story will still continue after SC2, but instead of the current three species, we have human ( K-sector + UED ), new XN ( formed from "peaceful union" of zerg and toss ), and some "new threat".

that'll be fun :)

@StarSpawn06 Yeah, I hope they have at least one new species. I was kinda disappointed they stuck with the original 3 without adding anything on. At least for WC3 they added 2 new races.

My understanding is that the original perfect version was just to simple grow the Zerg. Then again, if Duran is of the Xel-Naga then maybe the cloning process was their 'perfect' version the whole time.

Well, there's the Kalathi etc. hopefully Blizzard will expand on them :)

The original "perfect" successors were supposed to be the Protoss I think. Then the AoS happened, and the XN had to rethink their methods.

SC2:WoL makes it seem like the XN planned everything nicely, but to me all that "prophecy" stuff is just their way of saying, "OK we messed up, please wrap up the project for us XD"

K is for Koprulu, the sector of space in which the SC main story takes place :)

one thing is that when you find out about the hybrid zeratul goes "who could have made such a creature" for some reason he has forgotten duran's hybrids...

You can make a custom map and play as the Hybrids. I made a custom map and let the Zerg create them, since they look so Zerg-like. They are a lot of fun to play as so long as you don't make them free to create and take 5 seconds to train like I did. :)

I hope it IS the last living Xel'Naga , and not the "new" Xel'Naga Duran and others are making. Anyways, epic game and it is WELL worth it haha.

@Whips2Kicks i was also thinking it was the last living Xel'Naga. but its funny how his name sounds almost like the Voice in the Darkness which is an entity i found on the starcraft wiki that the Xel'Naga sealed away instead of destroying it. judging by the picture on the page of the Voice, he seems to have features similar to the Overmind as well as the Old Gods from the warcraft universe. really anxious to find out

@Whips2Kicks It's not a Xel'Naga at all actually, it's a zerg-protoss hybrid; most likely the one duran was making in the last "bonus" mission of brood war.

@jpz719 Samir Duran is said to be a Xel Naga if u played the secret mission on starcraft 1 he said to Zeratul that he placed the Hybrid on many planets and that it was a cycle that was finaly done which mean the zerg and protoss were ment to be 1 some day just like the overmind said in the last mission on startcraft 1 but the overmind wanted it to be done a diffrent way he wanted to consume the protoss into himself not have all the zerg and protoss be 1 being

@jpz719 The hybrid is supposedly the Xel'naga in form but controlled by a dark being the Xel'naga couldn't kill, so they trapped it in a void. But we won't know for sure until blizz announces it via website or in-game.

@jpz719 The hybrids are a perversion of the Xel'naga. (Guy in this video that got "killed" is a Hybrid Destroyer unit named Maar) Oh and the Xel'naga usually "defeats" things; they don't really kill. They believe in the preservation of life so instead they lock away bad stuff in the Void.

But now it's the future. We aren't certain if the Xel'naga wants us alive or burned to a crisp. Hell, Zeratul wonders if the Dark Voice itself is a Xel'naga.
