  • thanx dear love it

  • ... I have a question: Who are you headed to this "tutorial" and if you've seen it before the public ... not understand anything, everything should be inferred. If you still want to do something useful for others, why not make and quality, explained ?!! Believe that you're not safe either !!

  • deff use Connectify.me so simple its ridiculous

  • mitz i thnk u skipped a part in the very begging: HOW TO CREATE AN NETWORK PLACE"

  • @tuckavids yeah I know ...skipped to the part where we can share stuff...missed how to set it all up first...

  • This tutorial is good but; I'm talking about actually moving files to my desktop to my laptop.. don't i need to hook up a cord to transfer them?!

  • Here is a question: I have two systems networked to share internet connection thru a residential gateway (router). I'm trying to get them to file share but it never works. I look in my workgroup and I see both systems listed, I have the files/folders I want to share enabled, they even show up, but I'm unable to access them. I get an error that says, "not enough server storage is available to process this command."

  • @TheyFeedingULies What are the operating systems you are using?

  • @Computerbasics System one is XPpro64-bit, the 2nd is XPpro, both NFTS file system. The router is Netgear WGT624, I tried enabling UPnP, and that seemed to get me a bit closer. It showed my system on a "local network," but not both systems. I'm wondering if it's the routers firewall preventing file sharing. I checked and really there is that SPI firewall, but I don't wanna disable that.

I tried creating a network drive and that didn't work either. Any ideas?

  • @TheyFeedingULies Have you tried changing the IRPStackSize in your registry?

  • vista pls

  • @xisteagle Vistas gay, get Windows 7 or XP pls

  • There are no folders in my my network places, only in my computer location

  • You must not be sharing anything then.

  • I know . I would like to share but cant get any folders in my network . Thanks for reply

  • So you know you have a network setup and your not just sharing an internet connection? You should go to my website and go to the networking section... It will help you . If you do have a network setup then you need to right click on a folder you want to share and go through the steps to share it.

  • i get things that you don't have permission to access this folder./

  • To change the permissions on a folder, right click on the folder, choose properties, then go to the security tab.

  • Thanks it Helped a lot woot!! 5 Stars

  • You are all right about the Workgroup thing, I presumed that they were sharing files with computers that had the same operating system.. Sorry guys.

If you want to share files between a Vista and a XP computer, they need to have the same workgroup name. You can change the workgroup by going to control panel, system, computer name tab. In vista after clicking on the system icon in control panel you will have to press on advanced properties in the left column to see the proper system properties.

  • Where can i find "Network Places" on Vista??

    PLZ reply!

  • Its called the network and sharing center and you can find it in the control panel in the start menu.

  • There are many factors that come to play when sharing files over a network. A: You have to be on the same network, meaning you have to be on the same router, and your network has to be on MSHOME

  • you know how you go into cmd and type

net view and it will show all computers

on your network and i have 3 computers

well when i type net view it will only show

the computer that im on how do i make it

so i can see all computers that our on my network and make it so i can share files

with them if someone has the answer and

it works i will subscribe to them it would

    be glady appreciated Thanx Bsasam

  • thanks, it worked for meh :) but I think you should explain to these people that you have to be on the same "WORKGROUP" for sharing with each other or else it won't work.

  • Cool

  • THANKS!!

    IT WORKED...

  • Not working!

  • Make sure you have a network setup and sharing files is enabled. The other computer also has to be on.
