Why were the cops looking around in the afternoon acting like someone was around with a gun? The news story said they found the guy wounded nearby early in the morning.

Gardena police were investigating a shootout Friday between a Rosecrans Avenue meat market owner and an alleged armed robber that left the robber dead and a shopper wounded, as others looked on.

Officers arrived at Paisano Meats in the 1500 block of West Rosecrans Avenue about 6:30 a.m. to find the suspect shot a few dozen yards from the market, said Lt. Steve Prendergast of the Gardena Police Department.

I just looked up the demographics of gardena.  Holycrap I thought my town in northern cali was bad with racial makeup with only 33 percent white and over 60 percent mexican.

Your town is only 25 percent white, but 25 percent black and 37 percent mexican. Wow thats gotta be ghetto.

It's sad to say but if the cops are chasing a murder suspect at risk of them shooting another person and a dog goes to attack them out of protecting their yard, They will shoot the dog. I'm a Dog owner and A Former Cop.Bad situation you ahd in your hood....And I miss Redondo Beach...Grew Up there :)..And have lived in a Garage :)

@rockstarofredondo I totally understand you, But if it was the life of you as a Police officer being killed by a dog and shooting the Dog...It is a different world...I have chased a suspect through back yards who just killed his wife...And if it came to the life of even my own Dog or someone that was going to murder another person...?...I'd would have to make that choice...Sadly...Have you ever chased a man that just murdered his wife?

@TheMidnightRider11 I don't care about cops' lives. If I had the choice, I'd save every dog on earth & let all cops die. Dogs are innocent animals, doing no one harm, while cops will kill anyone for no reason everyday, & they live off of theft from me & everyone else that is taxed. Cops are violence as government is violence as authority is violence. A cop is not an innocent human being in the eyes of a truly peaceful man or woman.
