  • Ahhhh the Black Country...

  • Good music is gold! It'll never rust, but it can be ripped into pieces, so everyone can be shared a piece of it, and listen to it's beauty! But by years these pieces will get tinier and tinier; less people will be listening to the gold, and the people who listen to the music now is not gold...

Whoa! And I just created that! Led Zeppelin is gold! Jonas Bros are not! Gold will survive, shit will say shit...

  • that's in ''in my time of dying'' at the end

  • Plant is my role model .......

  • He is indeed a Golden God

  • yes, you are a led head . * smiles with pride

  • what are they saying in the very beginning before the song starts? Does someone say "Not even yet" or something like that..

  • Page said ''No leave it in''

  • Plant

  • They are recording this song outside and if you listen you can hear a plane fly over at the beginning. Page says they'll have to start teh recording over (due to the plane noise) to which Plant reply's "Nah, leave it" as they continue on to record the song.

  • Cool, I love to hear the story behind the music. How to you know or find out stuff like this?

  • i just read alot lol

  • At the beginning of the track, recording engineer Eddie Kramer can be heard saying, "Shall we roll it Jimmy?" followed by "Oh, I've got to get this airplane off" about an aeroplane which is heard flying overhead, to which Robert Plant replies "Nah, leave it, yeah."

  • they recorded this outside? that is so kick ass

  • Theres some lovely wimmin in The Black Country. Smart, Intelligent....and can Knock a pint back in the Star and Garter in 2.5 seconds. LOL. Pure Class. Cracking birds.LOL Planty had a CRACKIN' Black Country Woman. A Cracker. Really. I got to go back.

  • 2:00...FUCKING AWESOME

  • hey the airplane

i hate recording over a disaster zone

In the film, Ronald Reagan's character, Drake McHugh, has both legs amputated by a sadistic surgeon who disapproved of his daughter's obsession with Drake; when he wakes from anesthesia, he utters the line, "Where's the rest of me?" Reagan used that line as the title of his 1965 autobiography. Reagan, along with many film critics, considered Kings Row to be his best movie.

  • i wouldn't really call driving drunk being THAT crazy, just kinda stupid.

Keith Moon is also pretty high on the crazy list. I've yet to see Ozzy (he IS crazy) put EXPLOSIVES in his instrument and detonate them DURING a show...

  • gods

  • nah keep it rolling jimmy!!

  • timeless!

  • 3:31 10 pounds of dick in 3 pound pants

  • lo mejoooooooooooooooooor

  • Is the guitar part in open G tuning or something? I don't really want to go through retuning it just to find out I'm wrong

  • Jimmy said that he would put these dialogues in the songs so that ppl know that he's the one who is responsible for the sound of the band. And he also changed sound engineers in every album for this reason. Jimmy is GOD!!! Like the first time he played mandolin, he came up with battle of evermore. GREAT!

  • He's not God

    Simply just an unbelieveable guitarist

Jimmy said he hated Livin Lovin Maid and refused to play it in concert, but other than that, the guy was great!

  • yeah i dont like that song much either, but all the other songs are perfect

  • yeah they are

i think it's a good song and has turned into a classic for being right after heartbreaker

  • I would like think hes a god don't ruin it for me. lol jk. I heart jimmy. LED ZEPPELIN FTW!

  • true

    to true

  • Should we roll it Jimmy? We're rolling on the..one? No, one again. We're gonna get this airplane on it.

    nah leave it yeah.

  • That part is great. Kinda like the beginning of The Ocean when Jimmy's like "We've done four already but now we're steady, and then they went.. One.. Two.. Three.. Four"

  • In The Ocean the voice that says that is actually Bonham, when he couldn't get the beat, he tried four times, thats why he said, 'We've done four already, but now we are steady' etc..

  • It was Bonzo, eh? Makes sense, I guess I just always assumed that Jimmy was a slave driver in the studio and would have been pushing them to do a few more takes before breaking for drugs/alcohol/sex/violating groupies with a fish/pooping in a groupie's shoe.

Anyways, thanks for the correction, I'm always up for more trivia.

  • Nah, they weren't that wasted, the had their excesses but not to the point of pooping in a groupies shoe?! haha.

  • Back when I used to read Blender (what? don't look at me like that...), they had an article on the "20 greatest moments in metal". The story went that Bonzo had a mean drunk on and was trying to sleep; meanwhile their tour manager was in the next room fooling around with a groupie. John got fed up with all the noise they were making, and proceeded to take a dump in the girl's shoe. Later when she discovered the surprise, she said "You shit in my shoe! By the way, I had a great time."

  • Not at all sure whether that's actually true, but then again Ozzy once snorted ants and drank some piss just to prove that he was crazier than anybody in Motley Crue (who were touring with him at the time).

  • Ok that's disgusting

  • Yep, it sure is. Everyone knows about the bat and the dove, but not everyone knows that story about Ozzy.

  • Ozzy was crazy, but it was still Nikki Sixx who was declared DEAD and brought back only because one of the emergency medical dudes was a Crue fan and refused to give up.

on the other hand, Tommy Lee was not too crazy, just really STUPID.

  • And how about Vince Neil making a drunken trip to the liquor store in his deTomaso Pantera with the drummer of Hanoi Rocks, and ended up killing his passenger in a head-on, while he survived and ended up spending and unfathomable 15 days in the clink and 200 hours of community service teaching kids about impaired driving, while still being able to tour with Crue.

  • If anybody hears of a band called Led Zepplica coming to your town definitley check them out.. Great cover band... They tour around the world so they may come close to ya...

  • Love it when Bonham comes in... This is one hell of a feel good song....

  • I think this song came from a jam session with Ian Stuart, another song that came out is Boogie with Stu.

  • "Should we roll it, Jimmy....we're gonna get this airplane in there..."

    "nah leave it, yeah"

  • the first time i heard this song was also my first time being high witch made this song all that much better

    led-zeppelin 4 life

  • I have this on 45 with the A side being Trampled Under Foot...stole it off my dad...those two songs got me into Zep....see, stealing is good!

  • whats up with the beginning? "chilly cholly jimmy!"

  • Awesome song

  • i want that photo at 2:02 realy bad...love this song!

  • I can't believe anyone else even knows this song. It will always be my favorite of thiers. Best band in history, hands down. The Godfathers of hard rock.

  • Go on Rob...Meet me down the Casa. Scugsy's comingLOL.

  • LOL Page in the last pic, guess when the whole world kisses your arce and your on top of the world, you can dress like Liberacy

  • hey hey thanx for sharing!

  • great! from a black country woman XXXXX

  • The best!

  • Bonham has such a feel to his drumming. Nobody is as good as Bonham, I dont care what anybody says. Bonham has such a feel, like a groove to his drumming, its so raw and untamed and just wild. Nobody can match it. And this is an excellent song.

  • This is one of the best displays of electric blues ever. Zeppelin is the greatest compliment to blues, and some of the greatest rocking musicians of all time.

  • this song is SEX to my whole being...

  • this song is amazingly cool

  • A great song. In fact, the first song that turned me into a huge Zeppelin fan. John Bonhan can bang the fuck out of the drums.
