I was very satisfied when I finished Kiddy Grade, then I saw this....not so happy now...I don't like the fact that they replace the main characters, Claire~Lumiere... :( i really liked them...well hope Kiddy Girl And is as good as Kiddy Grade. :o
I like this version of Asceour better. She's much cooler looking than the silly pink hair-heart thing. And it would be so much cooler to learn more about Eclair and Lumiere's past (which is what it looks like they had planned here) besides seeing more of the old cast getting involved in stuff. Although I don't like the idea of them setting up Eclair's death (which is what it looks like...)
What i do not understand is why Ascoeur look different from the one in the anime.She definitely has short pink hair and has a far more naughty and childish personality?Did they change their mind when writing the script?Also there are so many scenes which do not appear in the anime.Someone explain me what the hell is this.

So because she was supposed to be like Eclair she looked too much like Lumiere so they had to change it, and I think that ended up in changing the whole thing.

Directore Eclipse's special ability is quantum control including the conversion of soul from dead ES member into quantum and transforming them into new body. But, it is ridiculous that Eclipse dead!!OMG! And the explanation is that she couldn't revive herself. But in kiddy grade 1, she can revive herselve!
Also, eclair 's ability is "power" and lumi is "particle" (the hidden one) or "puppy". And then what make their abilities change into space and time?!
Futhermore, I 'm really doubt about why Ascoeur and Q-feuille inherit the power of the two dead ES member. This seems not that harmony and weird. The ability of ES member suppose to be unique, Q-feuille is developed from Eclipse cell. It is sensible for her to have the strength of Eclipse. (
Also, the intention for Ascoeur's brother to destroy the world is weird and the power of shawdow workers are suck. Also, there are two pairs of ES member being trapped in the gates. I know that till the end episode 26! That is strange! Also, the BGM in the last episode is great but what makes them appear so late. The previous BGMs are boring and repeating all the time. The second season has been released. So far 22 ep(out of 24) have been subbed. It is called Kiddy Girl-and instead of Kiddy Grade 2. Some characters get re-designed since the pilot. How they changes Asucule is really annoying! Especially if the show has characters changing bodies all the time! Q'fue looks too much like Eclair! Q'fue better be Eclair! Because it is going to look weird if those two meet! They have THE SAME FACE! Drawing style really does not usually bug me, but when dealing with a show where the characters change bodies, you better make the faces look different!

Dont believe "Kiddy Girl And" is not Kiddy Grade at all, is an alternative version like doujinshi in japan. The same as "Futakoi Alternative" That is not "Futakoi" at all.
Of course im looking for the real Kiddy Grade 2! It seems that this anime will have that sincerity and dedication we love from the original Kiddi Grade Series!

Gonzo is not and never has been involved in the sequel. Since this pilot the name has been finalised and the character design for Ascoeur has changed but it WAS a pilot after all; compare Star Trek's pilot "The Cage" with the series as broadcast.
The only characters confirmed to be returning are Tweedledee, Tweedledum, A-ou and Un-ou. Eclair and Lumiere are on the cast list however. The name might be made clear (I'm assuming the "i" is lower case for a reason), but then again it might not.
the manga for kiddy grade 2 is titled kiddy girl and pure, for the most part i believe that statelight inc decided to leave the pure off. and i hope they return but i'm not sure

That scene is actually portayed in the manga pretty much as-is, and is from when they are told they are going to be partners (if I understand correctly).
It's Kiddy Grade. Eclair and Lumiere have switched bodies 3+ times already. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that the new characters are them to begin with. Of course, even if they were not them, do we really want a rehash of their characters' backgrounds? With no episodes as canon yet, whose to say what really happens. I'm still going to watch.
Sorry, ran out of room. The DVD shows some backstory with the previous incarnations of both Lumiere and Eclair. Remember, Eclair herself has somewhat 250 years worth of backstory...and they've been dead before...multiple times.
NTM, this is suppossed to be several years after the first KG. Maybe this series is going to be a "search" for Eclair and Lumiere...with these 2 new characters doing the searching.
Que-Feuilles and Ascule are different characters to Eclair and Lumiere - supposedly the story of KG2 (now Kiddy Girl-and/Garland) will follow them as ES members in-training. It's set 200 years after the original series. However, Tweedledee and Tweedledum are in some promo pics for the manga adaptation, so we may see Eclair and Lumiere again.

If you mean Kiddy Grade 2 then no episodes have aired at all. All episodes of the original series are here to watch on Youtube in FUNimation's channel.

I think that was just a mistranslation of the original Newtype article. You can read the entire article translated in the April 2007 issue of Newtype USA if you can track down a copy. For example: "The new show may be set in the same universe but it features an all-new set of heroines".
Not according to the available information, no. They could still pull a bait-and-switch and have the new heroines be Eclair and Lumiere after all, or have them take over partway through the series ala Ga-Rei, but that's been done already now so it is unlikely.
The only DVD out is this very one ripped here, and the only place you are likely to see it is in Japan. DVDs are available, in English, for the original series however.
There are no subtitles on the DVD, but since there is only the one or two lines of dialog (other than the commentary) I don't think it is really important :)

You can buy them from cdjapan, amazon, yesasia, playasia etc. There is only a few minutes of actual new material between them so you're not missing much.
At :55, I just think that would be the funniest "what if". Lumiere being the teenager and Eclair being the hyperactive little brat. ^_^ It's five seconds or so, but I still think that's funny and cute.

Can't wait to see this. I just finished the first series the other day but I was confused on certain things, like *SPOILER WARNING* why do Eclair and Lumiere look different at the very end? Did they switch bodies again or did they dye their hair/get contact lenses? If they switched bodies, how and why?
If you're referring to the 1st series, a certain pair killed them under the cover ofinto new bodies and usurping control and hiding their identities, one of their "victims" survived and helped the pair "resurrect" into new bodies which they could alter slightly namely the ones you saw near the end.
Hope that doesn't spoil things but as for Kiddygrade 2 I have as much idea as you have probably less.
hm acctually i noticed while watching that donnerschlag is destroyed in the beginning or is at least shot to pieces, and then reappear in the scene where eclair dies, although it seems like it would be the same battle right? i guess the only possible answer is that the story is still being developed and none of the scenes shown are surely included, except for the characters. was the same for the KG1 trailer so it will prob. be same here. what do you guys think?
It is possible Donner wasn't as badly damaged as it first appeared - I'd say he definitely lost an arm but the distance and the explosion makes it hard to see if the rest survived.

The different versions of eclair are all from the original series and novels. No date has yet been announced and I would be surprised if it was anything other than 24 episodes.
I sure as hell hope that Sinistra and Dextera survive that fight, but like shirobane said, they weren't in the lineup. Which is extremely disappointing.
While characters have a habit of coming back from the dead the head count is Eclair going foom, Lumiere being caught in the blast radius (possibly Eclipse also), Viola, Cesario, Sinistra and Dextera looking in bad shape and notable by their absence in the lineup at the end.
There are ways and means - Eclair's memories are supposed to be backed up through Donnerschlag, the clones were made last series without Eclair being physically present, and they could always pull some deus ex-machina using the clones themselves if they are still alive.
actually, alv and dvergr had a copy of elair and lumieres powers, so they created the clones by using their powers, and I doubt the clones are still alive cos their life span isnt that long.I'm just as upset as you are, btw.:(
The clones were created prior to the fall of the GOTT and the deaths of Eclair and Lumiere - they are shown in the epilogue of the Reverse manga, which is set a couple of days before episode 15.
I have a feeling that everyone here is more mature than the actual second season of kiddy grade O_o

That's absurd. If if were an alternate version it wouldn't be set after the 1st season ended, now would it? Continuity, eh? Eh?
As far as I know, the action has EVERYTHING to do with the previous series and even has some Eclair an Lumiere screentime, albeit reduced.

But, the producers changed their name, because Gonzo Animation wont change original that seems more like Utakata.
Gonzo Animation could not give up his original name,(KG2) to later, who knows make an continuation with more fidelity to original Pilot DVD.
Now that characters looks much like My Hime and My Otome instead. Because they are being produced by Sunrise and a animation group called Gimik.

Gonzo is not and never has been involved in the sequel. Since this pilot the name has been finalised and the character design for Ascoeur has changed but it WAS a pilot after all; compare Star Trek's pilot "The Cage" with the series as broadcast.
The only characters confirmed to be returning are Tweedledee, Tweedledum, A-ou and Un-ou. Eclair and Lumiere are on the cast list however. The name might be made clear (I'm assuming the "i" is lower case for a reason), but then again it might not.

the manga for kiddy grade 2 is titled kiddy girl and pure, for the most part i believe that statelight inc decided to leave the pure off. and i hope they return but i'm not sure

The anime isn't a manga adaptation, they were developed simultaneously and the anime was announced first; the "pure" was *added* to the manga title.

after they released this preview back in 2007, nothing more was heard about this but now it was re-announced but with a different tittle. insted of kiddy grade 2 it's Kiddy Girl and Pure. i think they're still workin' on it :O

"Kiddy Grade 2" (キディ・グレイド２) was only a provisional title (仮称). "Kiddy Girl-and" is now the the title of the anime and "Kiddy Girl-and pure" is the title of the manga. Not only are they still working on it, but reports are that it will air (in Japan) in October (but I'm still looking for official confirmation).

That scene is actually portayed in the manga pretty much as-is, and is from when they are told they are going to be partners (if I understand correctly).

It's Kiddy Grade. Eclair and Lumiere have switched bodies 3+ times already. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that the new characters are them to begin with. Of course, even if they were not them, do we really want a rehash of their characters' backgrounds? With no episodes as canon yet, whose to say what really happens. I'm still going to watch.

Sorry, ran out of room. The DVD shows some backstory with the previous incarnations of both Lumiere and Eclair. Remember, Eclair herself has somewhat 250 years worth of backstory...and they've been dead before...multiple times.

Que-Feuilles and Ascule are different characters to Eclair and Lumiere - supposedly the story of KG2 (now Kiddy Girl-and/Garland) will follow them as ES members in-training. It's set 200 years after the original series. However, Tweedledee and Tweedledum are in some promo pics for the manga adaptation, so we may see Eclair and Lumiere again.

If you mean Kiddy Grade 2 then no episodes have aired at all. All episodes of the original series are here to watch on Youtube in FUNimation's channel.

I think that was just a mistranslation of the original Newtype article. You can read the entire article translated in the April 2007 issue of Newtype USA if you can track down a copy. For example: "The new show may be set in the same universe but it features an all-new set of heroines".

Not according to the available information, no. They could still pull a bait-and-switch and have the new heroines be Eclair and Lumiere after all, or have them take over partway through the series ala Ga-Rei, but that's been done already now so it is unlikely.

The only DVD out is this very one ripped here, and the only place you are likely to see it is in Japan. DVDs are available, in English, for the original series however.

You can buy them from cdjapan, amazon, yesasia, playasia etc. There is only a few minutes of actual new material between them so you're not missing much.

Can't wait to see this. I just finished the first series the other day but I was confused on certain things, like *SPOILER WARNING* why do Eclair and Lumiere look different at the very end? Did they switch bodies again or did they dye their hair/get contact lenses? If they switched bodies, how and why?

If you're referring to the 1st series, a certain pair killed them under the cover ofinto new bodies and usurping control and hiding their identities, one of their "victims" survived and helped the pair "resurrect" into new bodies which they could alter slightly namely the ones you saw near the end.
Hope that doesn't spoil things but as for Kiddygrade 2 I have as much idea as you have probably less.

hm acctually i noticed while watching that donnerschlag is destroyed in the beginning or is at least shot to pieces, and then reappear in the scene where eclair dies, although it seems like it would be the same battle right? i guess the only possible answer is that the story is still being developed and none of the scenes shown are surely included, except for the characters. was the same for the KG1 trailer so it will prob. be same here. what do you guys think?

It is possible Donner wasn't as badly damaged as it first appeared - I'd say he definitely lost an arm but the distance and the explosion makes it hard to see if the rest survived.

The different versions of eclair are all from the original series and novels. No date has yet been announced and I would be surprised if it was anything other than 24 episodes.

While characters have a habit of coming back from the dead the head count is Eclair going foom, Lumiere being caught in the blast radius (possibly Eclipse also), Viola, Cesario, Sinistra and Dextera looking in bad shape and notable by their absence in the lineup at the end.

There are ways and means - Eclair's memories are supposed to be backed up through Donnerschlag, the clones were made last series without Eclair being physically present, and they could always pull some deus ex-machina using the clones themselves if they are still alive.

actually, alv and dvergr had a copy of elair and lumieres powers, so they created the clones by using their powers, and I doubt the clones are still alive cos their life span isnt that long.I'm just as upset as you are, btw.:(

The clones were created prior to the fall of the GOTT and the deaths of Eclair and Lumiere - they are shown in the epilogue of the Reverse manga, which is set a couple of days before episode 15.
