@celestegrl You could certainly add a vegan protein power (there is Spiruteen which is plant-based and vegan) or other plant-based vegan powders. There are of course other ways to get protein just out of the foods we eat (vegan or not). however, I find its nice sometimes especially when I am very active to have a little extra protein in my diet so I don't need to feel ravenous after a load of carrots and working out in the gym for 3 hours!
Very nice! There were a lot of oranges in there so that was a pretty high calorie smoothie with a good amount of fiber - that would keep me full for a while!
hey Kristina -- hope you can see this & get a chance to reply... I'm a new subscriber & you are definitely an inspiration! So, as I'm starting, I was wondering if you've ever tried or heard of Spirutein by Nature's Plus -- actually Nature's Plus stuff in general... recommend? Thanx
@gigimc hiya! I don't take supplements, so I don't really recommend any type of greens other than the ones that are fresh and that come out of my co-op box from Rawfully Organic :)
@KCarrilloB yeayy! thanx! what I might do is finish out my supply as I transition & just not buy anymore of it... point taken! :) definitely learning as I go along
@msa1985 hey be nice! I think I spend more time deciding what I am going to make than making the foods sometimes that I doddle and have to decide. I only peeled a few while I was trying to make up my mind....come on now everyone does that. "Liar" is mean! :O)
thank you for this recipe! im wondering how much it usually costs per week to eat fully raw. my dad buys me my produce and says we are spending 200 a week and its too expensive to eat raw, what cheaper foods should I be buying? we don't have organic food where we live and its very cold so no weekly markets around but what foods are cheap to buy each week so it doesn't cost so much money? thank you anyone!
@purpleplasticcup It is actually MUCH cheaper than eating cooked foods then having to pay for the repercussions of those consequences. I know people who are raw for $80 a week (eating non organic and some organic) and then I know some who eat all organic for $350 a week. Depends on how you know how to scout out good deals! Check out Rawfully Organic! Link above! hugs!
What is your typical diet like, in terms of meals (typical breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks with amounts of food)? Seeing how u structure ur diet would help out us newbies! Thanks and keep up the inspiring videos!!!! =)
Kristina, ... I find you to be the cutest of the cute. I had a youtube crush on your when I first 'youtube-met' you on one of Dan Mcdonald's videos. And not I don't mean like awww, I mean like cutie patootie, and well spirit of a beautiful woman. I have been single for about 2..wait, is it going on 3.5..years now. lol..just saying ;p Keep it up, you're beautiful. :x
Hey curtis, she is using a vitamix. It is one of the very best blenders there is. With this you can pulverize almost anything, which is especially important for greens so that it actually breaks open the cell wall releaseing all the amazing nutrition in the plant food that our bodies can't digest because we don't create the enzyme cellulase! lol. <3
@curtis1575 I am using a Vitamix. If you need a great deal on them, Rawfully Organic gets the best non-profit deal. If you are interested, please email Rawfully Organic.
@rainbowsalads I can tell I am gonna get tons of comments about that! Dude! The timer was on...we did close ups of cuts and whatnot, but you hear my voice the whole time. And I don't wash my greens when I bring them home from co-op b/c they are local and I really like the freshness of them. :) Thanks for the love! :)
Could you possibly do a "Day in the Life of Kristina"vid - id be soo interested to find out how you run 8-15miles everyday into your way busy scedual! Love you videos, you rock :=))
@KCarrilloB hehe tell me about it - ill look forward for the future! :=) Hope you dont mind me asking then if you get your running done in the morning when you get up or in the evening or do you just fit it in the day randomly when you have spare time throughout the day? Thank youuuuu!! :D Hugs, AJ
my smoothies sometimes look like *brown glob* too...but I know that they are soooo delicious so the must not be always yellow or pink or green...brown is nice too.
@heidiheidi0 Hey Heidi! I thought I answered on the last video my apologies! I eat anywhere from 2500-3000 calories a day depending on if it is a co-op day, an active day, etc. I talk a little bit about eating enough in my video Top 5 Tips to Stay Raw. Thanks so much for responding!
Ur the reason I'm raw vegan!!!
