Also, when you take your child and have photos taken the photographer has NO RIGHT to claim a 'copyright' on YOUR child's face! You have the RIGHT to scan those photos and print as many as you like!!
@jimbritttn As the laws are written, if a photog takes a picture, including your child's, the photog is the creator of that work, therefore the owner of the copyright. Of course a portrait is meant to distribute to family and friends, so it usually is not an issue. However, if you make money off of those photos, you will owe the photog a portion if not all of the profits. And he/she will sue you for them.
