  • pretty voice :-) how old are you - or - were you when this was recorded?

  • the pianist is wonderful and captured the style perfectly! I love the articulation very light yet supportive and controlled.

  • This is the best rendition of this song I have found, I can make out all the ups and downs which is so helpful and I am trying to learn it just now. Thank you.

  • Wow thank you so much! I'm so glad it helped! :)

  • To anybody who thinks you should take it faster: THIS tempo is quite perfect, I think. The other recordings on youtube go so fast you can't make them out half the time! Triumph doesn't mean running so fast you trip :-)

    Well done anyway, lovely voice!

  • I don't think I could take it any faster if I tried...I would probably pass out! Thank you so much for your comment!!! :-)

  • loved it

  • your voice is lovely.

it brings a smile on my face.

    you should consider going professionel.

  • Thanks! I am actually, haha :)

  • lovely voice!

  • love it, well done!...

  • music fest ?!

    CMEA.CCS?

  • I'm singing this song in a music festival coming up pretty soon and I definitely know what you mean by run crazy! It's fun though. I really enjoyed listening to you sing this though. This style suits your voice beautifully. :)

  • Gorgeous! I love purcell. Please sing more of his works and I'll check them out.

  • Beautiful voice! Very impressive!

  • Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed listening to this! I'm learning this at the minute and having fun committing it to memory! Well done!

  • you have a very pretty voice...grate potenital! sorry for the bad spelling im dsyelicx.

  • from someone who really enjoyed singing this piece. You really have a great voice for the early music. I'd love to hear you sing more Purcell and I think Dowland would suit your voice well too. Do you like singing the early music? (Its my favorite! With Franz Schubert coming in a close second :-))

  • Thank you so much for your comments!! I will definitely mention your suggestions to my voice teacher...to be perfectly honest I am not too familiar with music literature yet and I just started lessons last fall, so, I'm not sure what exactly I like singing yet! Haha...but I definitely had fun with this piece. I'm actually singing a lot of opera and musical theatre right now but I'll probably go back to some of the early stuff next semester. Thanks a lot!! :)

  • GOODNESS!! For someone who started lessons so recently, you can sing your HEAD off. I mean, I was impressed before, but now I'm even more so. I've been a singing geek for years and there's no way I could take on Hark the Echoing Air!

  • Very nice, I just finished singing this myself (however as a tenor, even though the character really is a soprano, lol). Interesting, this arrangement is just a touch different. Also, have you looked at any ornamentation on both repeats (I am actually writing up a project right now for music history on ornamentation using this as an example) and perhaps a bit quicker and bit more triumphant. Singing it faster actually helped me with the breath control issues. Just a few humble suggestions,

  • yay for tenor singing purcell. i did this aria when i was in 10th grade. it was fun. i took it much faster

  • beautiful voice. reminds me of the voice of Johanna from Sweeney Todd (2007)

  • AWSOME

  • You have such a lovely voice, BelleRose! Well done! Could it be a trifle faster --i.e. more triumphant?

  • Too bad you used a piano rather than a harpsichord. It would have made it sound authentic and more convincing. However, I like your voice!

  • You are a good musician!

  • I like this music!

  • I like it!

  • Beautiful! I'm about to study this song in college as well and I was looking for an example! Great work! :)

  • Thank you so much! I'm really flattered :) Have fun with the song!
