Youve Got the technique down but now the musicality is lacking as well as the tone quality. While many of the marches you are playing may seem very straight forward to you there is so much room for dynamics and color. I think someone above mentioned about changing the dynamic level at the strain and that will surely capture the eyes of a fellow musician especially on piccolo. I am personally working on building my tone quality as well. I recommend long tones. Its boring but IT DOES help.

i agree this is good and i love this song, but try to articulate the beginning note of each eighth run to empasize it, and pay attention to dinamics. One more thing, judges will love and give a good compliment if you follow dis: when you get to the second strain, drop the volume dramaticly than the first strain then work your way up, and the second time you play the second strain try to speed up tempo and end with a short(stacatto) note. This will change everything and will sound even better :)

I play flute and I tried piccolo for the first time today... to get the best air you use three things to say when you inhale; Oh, ah, ee. those are the sounds you make an dif you're playing fast, say hawaii. Most people dont use this method but it works best

by the way, i luv the bird, lolz. my budgie sits on my shoulder when i practice my instruments too. i think they like the sound of high pitch instruments for some reason.

and i used to practice at my friends house sometimes, and her parakeet actually learned some of the music and would sing along note for note! we found out when i walked in one day and it started singing when it saw me coming. it creeped her mum out tho, lol.

I have a solid silver gemienhardt and I love it ... it's always in tune.. :) go me! lol :D I have a friend that has one of those plastic body, metal head joint piccolos and I personally don't think that you should mix materials because the sound of a piccolo is so venerable and one little thing such as two materials will mess up the sound horribly.. :)

I can only do so well on my piccolo because its a 300M Selmer with with the metal head joint, and it is difficult if ANYTHING to pour notes out of it in the continuous fashion you are doing so. But either way, you are GUH-REAAAAT!!!

I HATE THIS SONG!!! I played it at All-regionals (on picc last year). Lol. I hadn't practiced it, so when we started playing I thought I'd die. lol. He also sped up REALLY quickly at the end, which I was not expecting. lol.
