I wonder if Dick Cheney would have gotten all of his heart surgeries if he was a private citizen? With his pre-existing condition he would have been DENIED! But nope my tax dollars pay for HIS health care and ALL the health care for ALL the politicians, but we the people suffer while they sit and laugh at us. Think about that the next time you get a bill from your insurance company. Greed is awful, and we are the victims. STOP THE REPUBLIACNS and TRUMP FROM REPEALING THE PUBLIC OPTION!
Seems like we have a panel of dignified, well-dressed murderers. none going to jail or ever will be accountable. Makes ya proud to be an american, don't it?
No, you're entirely off. If we can ignore these people, you can ignore many others and they can ignore you as well. Humanity is not a line or some lines we draw. Progression and understanding reflect our intelligence. Don't just attending schools to learn drawing lines everywhere, British civilization's going down hill because someone poisoned their minds with the drawing lines philosophy. Their industries stuck after too many rigid lines are drawn by some lost souls.
What we need and what would work is a Single Payer Health system. Look up "Mad as Hell Doctors" for single payer health care. Many people will not qualify for the "public option." (many working people)
@dfwtexxaas so after listening to a 1:23 second clip you are sold on the idea? People like you are the problem in this country. You just suck up the first thing you hear and spit it back out like its your religion
why does everyone bitch and complain about our healthcare system? its superior to the rest of the world, morons. i know this to be a fact because glenn beck told me so. just think for yourself and stop buying into propaganda
These guys are supposed to offer health care insurance but they deny help to people when they absolutely need it the most and people die because of it. By asking the direct question and getting a no-frills answer he is showing the people what the reality of the day is. It is not just enough to know it is true, it has to be seen to be true.
It is astonishing that people would continue to vote against single-payer health care when it is what the country needs.
The purpose of Kucinich's personal income is not to provide healthcare, help people get better, prevent people from dying, etc. The purpose of health insurance, ostensibly, is precisely this. Apples and oranges.

So lets see here. Somebody with no insurances learns he has cancer. The next day he buys health insurance. The insurance company denies the claim. The insurance company caused the death of the person?
Yes, everyone who will ever get cancer, will not have insurance at the time. Having insurance actually prevents cancer. So you don't have to deal with dropping current insurance subscribers who get cancer, they just won't get it.
that is different then HAVING insurance and paying for it for many years, then getting cancer and having your insurance rejected. that's the issue here.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but what was the point of that question? I know the insurance companies make some pretty shady decisions that hurt the insureds, but sometimes their claim denials are justified.

I wish the single payer plan could be adopted state by state, rather than all at once. Come on america, you are a republic, not a democracy.

I would be for a single payer system under the following conditions:
1) If you are an illegal immigrant, you will be stabilized and sent home.
2) If you fail a drug test, you get kicked out immediately, even if in need of surgery.
3) If you are over 400lbs, unless you are at least 7ft tall. If you can't loose weight being that large, you are screwed anyhow.
4) If you are on meds, take them. Diabetic comas should not be due to lack of taking pills or shots, etc...

And how do you think these "problems" are handled with the Health care system as it is today?

After listening to this, how can anybody support the Republicans. This is exactly why we need a public option.

If you'd like to see evidence of what Sarah Palin would refer to as death panels -- which Sen. Kucinich is alluding to here --
Check out the video on my page. It's "eye-opening."

What a retarded sensationalist question to ask. Here's one for Kucinich (who I actually like overall):
Does your decision to not donate 100% of your income to cancer patients and research directly or indirectly cause harm to those patients?

insurance companies are not supposed to give claims out of good will. they're paid.
the stats are out that their coverage is shit compared to everywhere else. your example is terrible.

These companies need to be kicked out of the health care calculation. This is insane.
We need to expand Medicare and offer it to all citizens.

If only this were the real problem it might be easier to argue this issue.
No, in fact many claimants with long standing coverage, and no pre-existing claims get denied coverage.
