@ps3codman Ever heard the saying "If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all"
I am sure this guy is better then you at some things, so I would suggest you stop being an asshole to someone who is just looking for some help.
It needs some work but if you bring the club back straight instead of rotating and bringing it behind your back you will have a straighter ball flight. My guess is you are hitting a lot of slices? Work on flexibility as well!
Im a 3,2 hcp - get your hands farther away from your upper body center (chest) throughout the whole swing - will give you more distance and consistent hits. - open up the clubface more in takeaway and backswing, and you will have more release power and can hit harder towards your left going through, and hit harder through. - will decrease hook/draw misses you probably are having once in a while. - actually looks like your grip is part of what makes the club face too shut, weaken your grip.
You know your main problems stem from the fact that your clubs are too short for you causing you to bend over, it's not allowing you to have and athletic stance over the ball. Instead your trying to compensate by altering your swing. Ex. imagine trying to build a solid home on an uneven, broken foundation.
@logonster1 I'M 13 and i'm off 8! Btw nice swing @localfitch keep up practicing and you'll be down to the mid teens soon enough ;) Btw Your takeaway is a bit too shallow But nice swing for a 36 handicap (at the time)
not to bad id say try to keep your head from moving back and you will see better ball striking. you also have to remember your 36 handicap game can be in the wedges and putting. it isnt ALL in the ORIGIONAL golf swing. putting is half of the game. people can hit every green in regularion and 3 or 4 putt it.
Your body position is ok but your arms are very week where they are, keep the left elbow straiter for longer, your arms just buckle, flailing around. Practice swinging just using your shoulders and hips. Your swing is also too long, shorten your backswing for better control and focus on your shoulders moving, not your arms. With your swing its not gonna get back to square very easy, shorter the swing more control, and prob more distance for you.
not that you give a fuck about this advice but i would say you are taking your backswing back too shallow, bending your leading arm too much and that should be compensated by a stiffer leading arm and the use of more wrist and trapping the ball better and in time, as well as not giving your arms enough time to start in the swing aka your body is too far ahead causing pushes etc. i had the same prob once upon a time. anyways good shit though and what do i kno.
@killratoss thanks for the advice actually. check out my more recent videos for my newest swing where i have a steeper take away and keep my left arm straighter as you suggested... two things I've been working on.
@localfitch Your head is moving too much on your back swing. If your shoulder touches your chin don't allow your head to move further away from the ball. I would say there is too much movement in this swing. Movement is good but there is just too much going on here.
Looks like you're leaning over too much. Try to stand up straighter so your shoulders are more above your knees (it'll bring the ball a bit closer to your stance also obviously). This will help you stay on balance more. Just a suggestion, try it and see if it works for ya.
you swing it a bit flat, and on your downswing, because of your flat take off, your over compensating on your follow through which will sometimes cause the slice, all you need to do is just keep that right elbow from cocking till you get to just above the waistline with your arms, and this will produce a more consistant and smoother swing, trust me from experiance, its dropped me from a 36 handicap to a 12 in a year and a quarter, and also a good short game helps!
Loosen up a little. turn ur hips through more to a complete follow through and just focus on staying down with good tempo. I dont see anything to horrible. It's a good swing. Just try to get more loose with your hips and get all the way through.
seems odd that someone off 36 would be hitting a slight draw
i cant see from the vid but normally high handicappers hit a slice, and less commonly hit a hook, high handicappers tend to slice more often because they dont know the fundamentals of the swing too well (release of the clubhead, full shoulder turn, hips start the downswing etc)
Your plane is fine. It's not your biggest problem. Weaken your grip by turning your right hand over towards the left such that the v between your thumb and fore finger points to your right shoulder. This will Help square up your hooded club, and should help with your underneath plane too. Simple
Your club head is super closed at the top of your swing. That is where the draw comes from and you are also bringing it way way too far back. You can see the club on the other side of your head with the driver. Try taking a 3 quarter swing and and you might also try swinging with your feet together to help your ballance.
My swing was better than my dads when i was 10, and even he has a better swing than yours. My swing is better than yours even when i was off 28 handicap.
My first lesson from pga pro: Do not listen to (friendly) advice from friends/strangers. After you see them hit the ball you usually see why you should'n listen. Golf is not easy, good lessons help....
looks like your swing plane is a little flat. you might be swinging in to out which causes a cut shot. also remember to use your left hand to pull the club through, dont push with your right.
sweet song...who sings it? As for your swing...take this advice, don't read golf books, don't ask for tips...get bucket after bucket and put in some good old practice. WATCH the PGA...then go out and hit more buckets and practice, play a few rounds, enjoy life, get a few more buckets and practice and when you get tired...REPEAT. It's that simple, your golf swing is unique to you.
break your wrists a lil earlier on the back swing .. try to keep your upper body static and let ur shoulders , arms etc do the work .. hit down on the ball more .. at contact try turning through more
On the backswing try to take the club away slower, whilst keeping your left arm straight. Remember not to try to thrash at it, that won't achieve much XD. There really is no substitute to a series of lessons from a decent pro, though!
ooooooooh man.. you are wayyy to hard on the swing.. loosen up the shoulders.. i would know because my handicap is at 3.7. plus, when you go down on the ball, you open the club a little bit.. try standing a little more back man.(:

BAHAHAH...25 HCP lol...I play off a 7 HCP and I'm 12 years old... no offense but YOU SUCK....BAHAHAHAHA . And just coz this guy is older than you doesn't mean he should be better than you.
I have potentially the same issue - pulling the club back to quickly on the inside resulting in the club being almost behind you back at the top of the backswing instead of higher and kinda over your right shoulder. This tends to make you fall forward (a little bit) as the club is going back and narrows the swing arc on the way down. Try taking it back a bit steeper. the flattening of the swing plane will happen naturally as you change direction on the downswing. (at least thats the theory!)
Thanks for all the positive comments and tips, guys... I've been taking many of your ideas to the range with me. I'll be uploading an updated video in the next week or so... stay tuned.
I will sum it up. Shocking. I am the same. I got a golf lesson off a pro and it did the world of good. They may be pricey but they really make a hell of a difference. Good luck.
your bending over WAY too much...If you have correct posture, you should be able to drive a straight line, perpendicular to the ground, through your shoulders, knees, and toes
Stand a bit less straight, get a pair of golf trousers. Also, your feet should be turned more. If you have troubles keeping balance with a full leg turn, widen your stance. Just trying to help out.
you need to immobilize your hips during takeaway and take out some of the action with your arms during takeaway as well. Bring your hips through more after impact
im off scratch so i know what im talkin about first you need to slow your swing down and then you need to bring your hands round as you swing down, also if you look at the video you have that club layed down but your feet arent in the right place
Your over swinging ny amerture fault but if ou want to have straighter shot to stop slicing i surggest taking a 3/4 swing and drive through he ball instead of our over swing
you get it really shut at the top and this may be because of your grip it looks really strong.Maybe if you went for a lesson then that teacher would change your grip, this would help alot. But its not the worst 36+ handicap swing
Have you thought about getting fitted for clubs? Im by far no expert but just thinking it looks like those clubs are much too short for you and its making your setup look awkward?
They're +1" and +2* upright... I've changed from the x-18's to Titleist AP1's lately though... thanks for the tip, custom fit clubs are definitely important.
hey you know what, you have guts to say your off 36 instead of lying about it and saying your off 5 or whatever people make up these days. what i can suggest, is to not bring your body back as far as you are on the backswing and follow through a bit more.
u should just retain ur wrist angle a bit better not so much lag!!, thats why ur ball goes out to the right.
aswell as most high handycappers u think the longer the swing the longer u hit hit it . u should shorten ur swing for more control and better chance of sweet spotting it,, trust me u'll gain distance!
your club face is shut at the top not open. try checking your position half way back on your practice swings to see if you club face is perpendicular to the ground. from there you just need to turn your sholders.
I have a tip that helps a lot of people. Before you start you backswing, push your hands forward. This will keep your wrist in the right position and allow the clubface to come in square. Good luck
stop practiceing this your only making it worse

you honestly need a lesson or 2 man.
I'm not the best but your too loose at the top of your back swing, your arm shouldn't rest on your chest but be pushed out.
Loosening your back swing at the top only causes problems, dont try to hit it too hard either, let the clubs do the work.
And by the way,
don't drop your club like a pro until you can hit it consistently and straight.
