I think a lot of ppl the so called "qualified" to critique are missing the true purpose. The true purpose is to praise.... God is the the ultimate critic and i believe with all the missed notes and what not he was honored. Praise him in a joyful NOISE!!

Vocally, there is always room to grow.
However the key is arrange the song is such a way that capitilizes on your stregnths.. Your voices are young (that's good), then arrange the music to fit, and be innovative. Keep doing what you're doing and stay creative. Be so creative that it makes it difficult for somone to compare you to WAP or anyone else.
Everybody cant do every song. This is the directors fault or whoever decided to teach it. Sounds like the director said to his musician friends... hey I got this group and I want to do James Halls the blood. It doesnt fit their voices. The musicians and the choir dont match. It wouldnt b fair to say they cant sing but ill say they should not have done this song. It honestly hurt to hear this. I dont say this to discourage . Just a pointer. I dont teach my choir songs that simply dont fit them.
you can put your choir in a small box if you want to, but come on they didnt charge anyone nor did they promise a to be anybodies superstar.......................they came and took a chance on a real difficult and didnt do that bad........so if your choir is stuck sing stuff that doesnt challenge them then its safe to say that your not even qualified to make comments on another choir
I think its very safe to say that Im qualified to make comments given the fact that I have been working with groups and choirs for many years. some bad and some good. Competitions won and cds recorded AND many sold. I am very qualified b/c I know what gets engagements and what doesnt. What good does it do to bring people together and sing when its not done good? Hard to minister when notes are cracking and are off key. Please believe that Im not trying to say u guys cant sing. Im not dissing ...
... Im just being honest. I actually DO attemp to strech choirs but everone cant do everything thats why there are different types and levels of musicians and singers. They have to blend and match. All Im saying is that the choir didnt do a good job on this song. Maybe you guys worked hard and did good from when you guys started and I applaud your efforts honestly. but Im simply stating that the voices do not match this song. And those things have to b taken in to count when learning a song...

The musicians were good. The singing was weak. The director should consider the choir's ability before selecting a song. This song requires SO much technique and vocal power. (It came off pretentious when you did the "sped up" part like JHWAP. It was very tight when JHWAP does it. Once again, the musicians were great, except for the drumming, it was a little irritating...the syncopation was too fast...too many strikes per bar).

LOLOLOLOLOLOL Ahhhh!!!! I am so mad at this...and if this was someone from the church...I am laughing even harder. LOL But, the sopranos were a tad sharp alot, but mad props to the alto that was loud and holding it down. I have to give it to her. :) Tenors...well, ya'll did your thing.
