I used to tune in to CNN for the sports on the half hour and hope it was Van Earl Wright doing it. He was the man.

And watching him doing baseball highlights was classic indeed......when a guy got thrown out at the plate he was "Meat. at the dish." or how he said "grand slam". Or a normal HR was "Deep,  over the wall in Left Field". Miss him.

Agreed. Van Earl was the man. I as well use to wait up and hope Van Earl was doing the broadcast. I liked it when he said Los "Annngelees" and once he said "the two slowest human beings on the face of the planet" my Dad and l just lost it and started to laugh out loud.
