  • allez le rouge, alez le rouge...

  • I was on the Kop that night. I was only a kid at the time and I used to perch on the left hand side metal upright pillar (as you look at the Kop) at every game. Very uncomfortable to be 10 foot off the ground, have your feet stuck at a 45 degree angle and to feel the need to hang on as though your life depended on it for a couple of hours.

  • There must have been around 30,000 on the Kop that night. Davey Fairclough was an old mate of mine from the area where we lived. Did you realise you'd become an Anfield legend when you scored that goal, Davey? I do miss the good old days! Is it any wonder now that the old Kop has gone the atmosphere could never be the same except for important matches?

  • It's not just about the Kop these days though, the whole ground needs to be up for it to create a cracking atmosphere. But that can still happen when it's called for. I'm sure the Anfield regulars of today appreciate that they have a lot to live up to.

  • incredible! when you see that, you want to be a part of the public !

The football is dead now ; definitely !!!

  • I am a lfc-fan since I was a little boy from former DDR. It sent shivers down my spine when I saw the spot. Amazing unique English atmosphere!! It was a glorious time, wasn't it? I always put my "KOP" badge with pleasure. YNWA! Shit German soccer!!!!

  • wot a nite, i was 14 yrs old, the atmosphere was amazing, it blew me away, Y.N.W.A.

  • I was actually there as a 13 year old. There were thousands locked out outside.

I couldn´t breathe in the KOP that night.

I have never felt an atmosphere anything like that ever again and I doubt if I ever will

I wish somebody could have made a documentary of thar one in a million evening.

As we were pushed heaving out of the ground an old bloke next to me said, "that´s it, I ain´t coming back again, another game like that would kill me!

    .

  • from a chelsea fan, i actually feel lie crying because the atmosphere in england was the best but now... i remember besiktas getting the world record of loudest fans of 132 decibel and liverpool held the record before of 130dB in 2005 but everyone knows the english atmosphere has gone shit

  • @joshcfc8 These days its all fucking drums and microphones, is that atmosphere? I prefer the English atmosphere because there is not a single team where the supporters use that shit. Here in Holland, even the scum (Ajax, capacity 50000) needs drums to create some noise.

  • fuck modern football ynwa.

  • Now that support is awesome.i could spend hours watching these old games in my spare time and do which annoys the wife but what the hell there outstanding,Thank you to all the guys who put up these up.

  • can't imagine that anywhere ever was a better atmosphere than in the kop those days...

it's sad that english support is going down just because of seats! don't you stand during the matches anymore? 'cause they put in those seats in my hometown too, but we don't care at all and stand and shout for 90', or are you going to be locked out for standing??

  • @widijun At Liverpool now, we have an area at the back of the Kop where everyone stands for 90 minutes. It's called Block 1892 (Block 304, 305 and 306 together). And at away games, all fans of English clubs stand all the time. It's not just seats that have ruined the atmosphere, it's the ridiculously high prices of the tickets and so many lads have been banned, some for life. There's CCTV all over the stadiums, anyone who lets off a flare or a smoke canister is banned for life. It's a joke!

  • Fuck modern football,we want the 80-years back!

What an atmosphere, gettin my goosebumps on

  • Incredible

  • it sure is certain they're going no where :) scouser 4 life

  • but St Etienne fans would put koppites to shame now. in fact most fans in Europe would. R.I.P. English support- sad but true Fuck modern football

  • @dirlewanger42 You're right lad, I travel all over Europe and the Ultras put the atmosphere in Premier League stadiums to shame. The best I've seen are Besiktas a few years ago when they beat us 2-1.

Our Spion Kop was destroyed in 1994, this new all-seater 'Kop Grandstand' will never ever come close. The only night when it really came alive again was the Chelski semi in 05, that was a genuinely awesome atmosphere but in the normal league games, it's utter shite.

  • @KopiteP250505 I'm a blue but was in the boys pen this game as a kid, also went vs Trazbonspor, this was before things got bad between our fans (wasnt a bitter kid!) & H8 to admit it but great nights, Not just slagging the Kop but all EPLgrounds ours included. I also travel to Europe just to watch games, got family in Germany so watch Hertha, but agree Greek ultras the best & also Serbs, Rapid Wien great too, Ultras are true fans

  • @dirlewanger42 We haven't played a Serbian team for a long time. Would love to go to Belgrade if we drew Partizan or Red Star though. I've been to a few Borussia Monchengladbach games - our fans are mates with their's.

Agree 100%, Ultras are proper fans! I hope future generations see the Ultra scene emerge here, I know a few clubs like York, Palace, Stanley have groups. It's not easy when the media portray them all as hooligans cos' of stabbings in Italy when English teams have gone there.

    FUCK MODERN FOOTBALL!

  • @KopiteP250505 Very Good!!!!

  • Scouse and english..

    Sorry lads but we are!

  • I saw a joey eats frog legs banner @1:25 brilliant. Great Vid!

  • WE SHALL NOT WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED, WE SHALL NOT WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED, 'CAUSE WE ARE STANDARD BOYS WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED <3

    Respect.

    STANDARD DE LIEGE FANS

  • @Jambostan very good support for standard at Goodison and Anfield in 08,good team too very unlucky vs Liverpool

  • we are not english we are scouse. fuck modern football.

  • Damn! I wonder what the players must have felt like playing in that kind of atmosphere.

  • Amazing

  • Anfield when it's in full voice cannot be competed with.. Liverpool's stadium capacity is 45,000-48,000 yet is louder than the 60,000 stadiums in the prem.. Old Trafford, Emirates, White Hart Lane. Stoke City and Newcastle have fantastic home support as well

  • Its funny that you now have fantastic stadiums, better toilets, catering, safer as well, but no real passion and noise like here!

  • Bring back the old days, the days where the fans were the most important thing to the club and the days where there still was atmosphere, passion in the stands and cheap tickets, and the players played for their club not for their fucking pay check...

    Against mod€rn football.

  • nice! Good old times! We shall not be moved!!!

    Forza Genk!

  • We are not English,we are Scousers!

  • Hi, i am young supporter of Saint-Etienne.

Anyone knows how watch all the match please ?

    Thank you, allez les verts!

  • Non stop shivers everytime i watch this vid ! <3

  • We won the league,we won the cup,we been in Europe too.Liverpool till i die even after

  • amazing .arr the good old days eh .thnx 4 postin this .

  • 'we shall not be moved' - G. Gillet & T. Hicks

hopefully we're about to start a new era under new owners... anyway, top class video YNWA to all Liverpool fans

  • I was in the kop that night. when Davy Fairclough put the 3rd in we all jumped up and one of me shoes came off...never saw it again. what a night. The roof physically moved up a few inches with the sheer power of the Kop. Happy days.

  • YNWA

  • what other fans can do this??!!

  • I was at that game when i was 11years old , i was at the anfield road end becouse i was just a boy , the kop looked awsome from there for that game. I will never forget that match.

  • What i would have given to be there that night, unfortunately i wasn't born. My dad was there and he tells me stories of the great days such as when we beat everton 3-0 at goodison when sandy brown put it in his own net. He has no idea how lucky he was to witness such great times but they have gone. Football is a greedy game now, theres no hunger anymore.

  • i was there aged 15 . a magical night that will live in my memory forever. a atmosphere that will never be repeated at any ground around the world again

  • I've had a fair share of games at full house Red Star Belgrade FC (100000 capacity before the bloody seats were put in) stadium. Atmosphere at quite a few of those games was absolutely unbelievable. However, nothing compares to this game. I remember it well even though I was 14 when I watched it on TV, I think some of the goosebumps are still visible on my arms. The best noise ever!

  • lol damn...was born too late to experience this.

  • shuyye, the Kop were singing WSNBM in relation to wining the European Cup, nothing to do with moving from Anfield.

  • this was some game,my dad was at this match, that was when football was football,no money grabbing, unloyal pre madonnas back then, then capitalism kicked in,and the country went money mad, stab you in the back for a xtra penny, fuck modern and wot it stands for

  • liverpool have the best fans in the world by a mile and im not from there or support them its not hard to see why whoever says otherwise knows they are lying deep down sorry but true

  • Can someone answer this please... Why does Liverpool fans keep singing "WSNBM"? I thought it's because they didn't want to move to New Anfield, but did New Anfield planned in the 1970s? Thanks in advance. ^_^

  • @shuyye

Its co-incidental that the Song is about "moving".

Its a great song, adopted by many Football fans, meaning in this case that they are not going anywhere until they lift The European Cup!

  • magical

  • FUCK MODERN FOOTBALL. Bring this atmosphere back, this is what makes football great.

  • Incredible scenes, never to be repeated in an English ground again. What a shame

  • Liverpool guys, you should learn to sing 90min, not only 3 min for YNWA

    PSG ULTRAS, VIRAGE AUTEUIL

But its worst in many clubs in PL, no ambiance in England, just guys watching the game for 100£, no Ultras in England

  • @alive2k7

    ""no Ultras in England ""

England never had 'Ultras'. They had better. They never needed to be told what to do or to be pre organised like 'ultras'.

The Spion Kop was far more spontaneous than any 'ultras'.

  • @alive2k7 what is it with these fuckin ultra cunts i sin some Italian blurt bangin on abar them they other day he insisted they created football hooligans which they obviously didn't and seein as liverpool fans are known for bein the best in the world ya makin no sence.. if by English bein manchester united then yeh they are shit but Liverpool no way lad when everyones singin at the top of there lungs when were gettin beat 3-0 then yanno how good we are and loyal

  • @alive2k7 in those days and even before, english fans had the best atmosphere, nobody was better, no ultras, we don't need that, and we used to sing 90mins as well but now we don't, so get it right

what the fuck is PSG ULTRAS, your not loud or passionate

i know besiktas, dinamo but not psg piss off

  • what would shanks and paisley say about our rafa of 2010???

  • hmm i wanna know!

  • @tszsanso Shanks would probably say it took him SEVEN years before he won anything.

  • @redfnatic So you're saying will defo win the league next year, if Benitez stays?

Shanks had a group of players who played as a TEAM. Rafa has a bunch of players, without any vision and without any tactics, beside the '8-9' - Gerrard to Torres or Torres to Gerrard. Until we start playing as a TEAM, we will win nothing.

  • that he loves the club, and in this age of players and coaches that love themselves more than they appreciate the community, he deserves his chance more than anyone

  • Just goes to show.....(fulham boys) you can have all the money in the world, you can buy all the players and, ultimately, trophies in the world, but you can't buy support or history like that. "That's what we call history"

  • I was at this game in the Kemlyn. Something weird happened and the shutters were still down nearing KO, so some guys ripped them up and everyone piled in. We couldn't sit in our seats and we ended up on the wall. Before Fairclough scored people were already encroaching on the pitch and afterwords they were taking pieces of the turf. We returned our tickets for a refund but got invited to the club instead for a one to one tour. I got to pose with the EC and LC. I was 12. Amazing night.

  • @dmrichkt 'The shutters were down so some guys ripped them up and we all piled in'-this is what happened at Hillsborough but you are not to blame of course it was just jolly scoucers having a bit of fun. Wankers.

  • weirdly enough LFC became one the most loved team In France after this game.

  • Nothing surprizing really. IT's all about mutual respect. Liverpool experts rate this game as the club's most intense ever in its European history, outshining even 2005's win over Milan. I suspect the crowd intensity itself made it special, too. Today's all seaters are no match for this.

  • '' we shall not we shall not bee

moovvedd ...i love this team Liverpool fc

  • the sounds from a terrace are so much more intense then this all seater bullshit we have today

  • Quelle ambiance de feu. The glory days comme dirait l'autre. Tout ça est loin derrière maintenant. Vive le football moderne...

  • st etienne a la vie a la mort

  • We shall not be moved we shall not we shall not be moved we shall not we shall not be moved like a team thats gonna win the european cup we shall not be moved

  • The words of this song please.

  • like a team thats gonna win the european cup........we shall not be moved

  • Just like the team that's gonna win the European Cup, we shall not be moved.

We shall not, we shall not be moved.

We shall not, we shall not be moved.

Just like the team that's gonna win the European Cup, we shall not be moved.

  • it's interesting that Alex Ferguson was at this match at the time he was a young manager at St. Mirren. He said at the time he couldn't believe the atmosphere and that's when he decided he wanted to manage in England. He used to be a big admirer of Liverpool

  • woah!!...right up there with chelsea semi final 2005

    maybe the odd scottish

  • At the end of this is there someone sprawled out with a nurse over him or am I seeing things?

  • thats what i thought. so either were right or were both seeing things

  • yer this is, loads of people used to collapse and be pulled to the front of the kop over everyones head

  • fuck!! i wish it all would come back!!! that was football!!! no the misery you see now in anfield, its pathetic, im a liverpool fan but it depressed me when i see the games in anfield these days,

    The Gaffer

  • amazing fans, the greatest ever!!

  • good old England!

  • Great atmos. I s`pose all-seaters had to happen, but the old atmosphere...in the Kop, Stretford End, North Bank...(insert your team`s famous terrace stand here) simply cannot be replicated now.

  • @1:26 you can hear the "thud thud thud"on the floor as the kop bounces...brilliant.

  • a legendary game from a legendary club

  • Agreed. From a Coventry fan
