Kissy noises and clicky noises are an aggressive sign to rats, this rat is used to it but I wouldnt recommend doing it to a new pet rat, or if you're going to have lots of rats because they wont be able to recognize aggression from other rats if they think the noise is a good noise c:
This reminds me of my first female rat I ever had. she was very loyal, I could let her out in my bedroom and even if she disappeared into the closet, I would call for her and she would appear immediately. She would also stay next to me outdoors, I kept a good eye on her while outside but I never had to chase or worry about her running off. I havent had such a well-behaved rat since then...

beatiful ruby eyed Siamese what a doll. may i ask your method of training? my girls dont seem to like treats except whole baby carrots or the same sized celery/apple. lol. anything elese they stick there nose up at or it wld take them a hour to eat it lol love to know how you did it tho :)

Rats are if not more intelligent, at least equal in some sence to dogs. And their social life means they have the will to work together in some areas. Not like a dog, but enough to be able to learn simple commands.
So...I decided to teach my rat, to climb my leg when she was fed up with being down on the grass in our (enclosed) garden. Problem is, she decided she didn't want to climb my PANTS....so she climbed up my legs UNDER the pants.."Come Loppan IIIAOOOEARGHLSSHA!"...I miss her so much.
You shouldn't make so many different sounds when you want her to come to you. Just use ONE sound, either a whistle or kissing sounds, a bell sounding, a munching sound or something to that effect, when you make 3-4 different sounds, it just confuses the Rat. Imagine if I called you mami, then Anna, then Tiffany, then Gloria, you would get confused. Stick to ONE sound, best of luck!
went to get a rat the other day but they dident have any boys so we got a hermit crab and it pinched my 8 year old kate on the finger and wouldent let go ...just wasent her day :)
Does not matter if it is a dog or not. Animals respond to any energetic sounds directed towards them. Whistle, talk, squeak or anything, and they will pick it right up.
awww this saddens me i had 2 rats nd i didnt even have to call them i would let them run free in my house nd if they thought i was walking away they would run as fast as they could up my legs nd sit on my shoulder lickin my ears fuck i miss them so much

rats are awesome and you can train them to do anything a dog can. (if you spend enough time doing it) but it also really depends on the rat
