The rumored super phone is supposed to be a special version of Galaxy S II for some regions,because Samsung said that Galaxy S II in some regions would use Nvidia processor instead of Orion.I am getting a new phone on may,so I am wating for Galaxy S II.If Samsung reveals that super phone at CTIA,then I might wait for that superphone.

I updated my Galaxy S to 2.2 without any problem long time ago. SO it the matter of if you really want to upgrade it. Then previous firmware was ok enough as well except flash playing in browser. In general Galaxy S is responding to all of my needs and i would recommend it to everyone.

As a owner of a Galaxy S (Captivate) I won't even consider the Galaxy S2, go with a Nexus S at least then you can run the latest Android OS and not watch why Samsung focus's it's development and testing funds on their next generation products. Before we were only stuck with iPhones, but at least when newer iPhones were released they updated the existing ones firmware. 6+ months and waiting.
