Do you have to use and instrumental..? Because I wanna make an acapella of Marianas Trench's song By Now, but it just came out on iTunes yesterday. So there's no instrumental.
@LPHJHGuitar As far as I know, there is no way to do this without an instrumental. You can research yourself; some people say you can use a plugin called kn0ck0ut. check it out.
@cunningklobe this tutorial sucks, it doesnt work!!! If band hasnt instrumental track for original track it cant work, because if you remove vocals from tracks, it will be mono tracks and if you download instrumental cover it hasnt same instruments than original, this tutorial is waste of time!
You could have written instructions too (in the desc.), if you're worried about it being too fast and such. I understood, but some other people might have trouble reading as fast. (That's just if you're worried about it)
@ekstasixD I'll try to explain this as best as i can. I wanted to make an acapella, so i imported two files into audacity. one of the files is "song name" and the other file is "song name (instrumental), which is basically a karaoke version of the song i'm using. since the two files i imported are stereo files (files with left and right audio) it appears as if there are four tracks in all, but in reality, the top two and bottom two tracks are bundled with each other to make a single audio file.
the tracks are two different tracks. they are the song i want to take the vocals from, and the instrumental version of that song. I lined the tracks up perfectly so when you play them together, they arent off beat. then i selected all of the instrumental track, and clicked "effects>invert" and if your file was lined up perfectly, you should have just the vocals and no bg music.
Well, I'm trying to take the vocals from David Bowie's cover of I Feel Free from the instrumental, but I did what you said on this video, but it made the entire thing silent. Do you have any suggestion or solution?
Now I used a different song, with correct instrumentals, but the instrumental still is too high, is there a way to lower it more? I mean, I did it correctly and it had a result, but it still isn't the results I look for.
@AvassaladoresVEVO You can try doing a noise removal, but i can't guarantee it won't compromise some of the vocals too. I plan on doing a video about removing some extra noise but I've really been slacking on it. If theres anything in particular other than this you'd like to see in my next video, please let me know!
@ZZZcover Yeah, usually the songs from the official releases, be it a single or what have you, work perfectly. I use a lot of hello! project songs, but some of the earlier singles have weird frequency issues.
Wait, now I have perfection, but isn't working. I mean, I got the instrumental version using vocal remover, because this music I got has no instrumental version.
Dudeee, how did you import the song then automatically it will have 2 different part. i mean like the upper and the bottom. there's 4 of that blue histogram. when i put my song, it only has the upper one. howww? :/
@FreshAirMusicTv If you're referring to the fact that I didn't talk, I mentioned that I could try it next time in the description. But instead of a borderline rude comment, I would like to hear constructive things because I am trying to improve on tutorial videos but I can't if viewers don't tell me what to improve on
@gaarabitch96 As far as I know there is no other way. You can try googling it or looking through various remixing forums. I have heard that you can EQ out some of the background music and then remove the rest using noise removal, but I'm not sure the exact method.
@gAlRe254613 Eu não falam português. Mas eu farei meu melhor para explicar. :)
@TheMystery1singer An acapella song, or a song with vocals and music in the background? For an acapella song, just adjust the volume slider on the side of the track. If its a regular song, message me and i can hopefully give you some tips.
How come this never works for me ! Everytime i align the racks to what looks to be perfect, theres another part of the wave thats off; so one part will be matching and the other part will be off. Its pissin me off.
@lumkid060285 Like i said, some songs don't always work. If the frequencies of the tracks arent the same, it won't work. Subsequently, some songs also have "imperfect" instrumentals that for whatever reason arent exactly the same as the original.
@darkscurion It is very hard to do this. You can try effect> remove noise and see if you can get rid of some of the excess sound that way. I can make a video on this if you need me to.
Unfortunately, You'll need both an instrumental and the orignal track.
If the vocals on a track are panned center sometmes you can isolate them. There is an open source program called knockout that tototyrol made. It doesnt always work, but its worth it to check out.
Im just saying that if theres still noise in the background it could mean you're tracks arent aligned perfectly. If they're off, you can have varying amounts of "leftovers" in the background. Or do you not understand the process behind how this is supposed to work?
I was able to record my voice over a karaoke piece one time and record second and third voices over the same track... without recording on a new track and mixing them up. Then later on, i don't know what happened, every time i try to do it again, the second and third voices record on a new track. how do i get back to that previous state?
As far as i know the only way to do this is to use remove noise, also in audacity. Play around with it a bit. Unfortunately this isnt the best way, because it can sometimes make the vocals sound a little weird. But in a lot of cases it works fine after an instrumental is put over it. I'll make a tutorial for that soon :)
Also, if you have excess noise, it is possible that your tracks arent perfectly aligned. Play around with this things, kind of trial and error.
Each time I try uploading 2 mp3s to the same document, a new windows opens up for each of them, and I can't copy and paste one on to the other~ Do you know why this is? -Great tutorial btw, I just wish it was working for me!-
The only thing i can suggest is try importing them one at a time. You should be able to paste one to the other, though. the version i`m using is 1.2.6 if that helps. If you still cant get it to work, message me and we can troubleshoot further
It looks like it works only for songs without sub bass. I tried with some dubstep tracks and it did nothing. But thanks for the trick :)
