  • Amazing at the end when when Adam says "May we make them proud"

  • 1 Turd in the bunch.

  • An amazing episode but one thing i didnt want right at the end was the happy music on the ending credits!

  • its weird how i didnt cry once even though it was sad then when adam said lets make them proud i bawl

  • When this episode comes on TV I just can't bear to watch it. Ugh. Alice Garvey was definitely one of my top faves.

  • This man wrote, directed, produced, and starred in this episode, and many like it.

Yet, never one emmy nod for him or the show. But LHOTP won the night every week

in the ratings and 27 years after it's departure from the network, it still continues to inspire and entertain.

  • @TIPTON340 Forget emmys..... Make your own decisions on what are the best movies and tv shows.

  • Boo freaken HOO!!!!! I love this show so much. Tears and laughter back to back.

  • after every sad episode of 'Little House' they play the stupid ending song of them like running down the hill lol, its like it never happend. :V hahaha

  • @Scissors544 I agree there is no episode that u can really go without letting go of some emotions

  • i hate it that Adam is away from little house...

i was not happy when i saw he's last espisode ;)

But i'm happy that i see him here...

    he's not happy now...but alright ;)

    thanks

  • This is the best TV father-son moment EVER.

  • This scene always make me cry. :)

  • When Charles saids "I love you son..."

    tearjerker!!!!!!!!

  • Forgiveness I say....that is what this world should have more of and maybe things would be a lot better.....

  • very true

  • i love you son how touching

  • The tragedy of albert is that he was a bastard/orphan living on the streets when the best dad of all time took him in and treated him like his own, and then albert screwed up and killed mary's baby and mrs garvey. This guilt led to his morphine addiction later on. What a burden to carry around walnut grove especially with that nasty hag mrs. oleson running around talking shit behind everyone's back.

  • @scissors554 i agree she reminds me of 1 of my neighbors

  • Well....there have also been mentions that MSA wasn't the easiest person to get along with behind-the-scenes and it was rumored that both she and TPTB agreed for her to leave the show (notice how Mary's scenes get fewer and fewer as MSA's departure nears).

  • wait, I'm reading comments... what was the reasons actresses left the show? O_O Who left?

  • Mary left to pursue othe acting gigs...

  • @Emotional2000 why did she leave?

  • @linkaqt1 The actress that portrayed Mary Ingalls left the show to pursue other acting roles and eventually left hollywood to start a family. I speaking of actress Melissa Sue Anderson from LHOP.

  • @Emotional2000 ok, thanks!

  • @linkaqt1 You're welcome and I apologize for my incorrect spelling. I was sleepy when I posted... lol

  • @Emotional2000 i dont see any misspelling errors, but whatever. :)

  • What a beautiful ending. *Gulp*

  • I know, it was so sad and it ends so dramatically in silence. But then there's the credit music which kinda takes away from it. haha

  • i love how they kept the music the same throughout the whole series. i love the music.

  • Yes, it is beautiful and totally fit the time period of the show! : D

  • that's a good question.

  • Interesting question... I never thought about it...

  • You've just listed some of the reasons the actress left the show as well...

  • charles is a great father!!!

  • The BEST!

  • hehe albert almost falls over when his running to pa ... lol

  • Ya' know how the show is based on the books, and the books are based on true storeys. Well I found out Albert was fictional, and I cried!!!!!

  • Same here Daddysbre1, same here...

  • I Tried to Look up Albert on Wikipedia but there is no entry for Him. Since Your Such a Fan of the Television Series and Somthing of an Expert Emotional2000 why don't you do The Fictinal Albert's Entry. I Know This isn't the kind of request your used to getting, but I'd love to read it. By the way thanks for posting this Video.

  • The reason there may not be any info on Wiki ,regarding Albert Ingall's, is b/c he was a fictional character added to the show by Michael Landon and the writers of the t.v series. We are first introduced to Albert Ingalls in the epi "As Long As We're Together." : ) In this epi Albert is an orphan who steals, lies, and cheats to make it on the streets of Winoka... The Ingalls family eventually adotp Albert as a result of Pa's encounter with the lad in Winoka. : )

  • You Can Still Add Entries of Fictional Characters Though. Why Not Give it a Shot. On Another Not it was strange seeing the Entries for Charles, Mary, Laura and Nellie. Charles with a beard looks more like Issack.

  • To Emotional2000 Please read the comment written as reply to Daddysbre1 I don't know if you see all replys since this is your post but wanted to let you know just in case. Thanks you for posts of LHOTP. *)*

  • there's hardly any episodes of this show I watch that dont bring tears to my eyes. it was so intensely emotional! and I'm a guy!

  • Saw your post Daddysbre1 & Emotional2000 so wanted to let you know I saw an interview with Milissa Gilbert who said Micheal Landon had friends that lost a son named Albert so the character of Albert became because of this. *)*

  • Hey, Emotional do you have any of the "Highway To Heaven's" i loved Michale Landon in this and "Highway To Heaven" not to crazy about "Bonanza" though.

  • Sorry, I only have LHOP seasons 6-9 at the moment...

  • Comment removed

  • This is a great Ep for a Fathers and Sons get back to each other for the lost of loves ones. Well for the last part of that and great ep. also.

  • Aw...sweet. A little bit of a role reversal here...Charles comforting Andy and Jonathan comforting Albert.

  • Good scene!

  • ready for some funny ones like harriett'shappenings or boys willbe boys. thank you forposting it brings back a lot of good memories.

  • You're welcome jiloa52! By the way if you have any requests from seasons 6-9, feel free to drop by my channel and make a request... But before you do so, please read my LHOP Guidelines for making requests via my channel. Happy watching! : )

  • Leaves a lump in your throat when Charles says, "I love you, Son!"

  • You're welcome funnymoof, ciefenton, and poobear1994. Thanks Poohbear for sharing your story regarding this sad, but touching epi.

  • almost 22 years ago i last saw this episode, this morning i decided to watch it on youtube in its entirety-- i cried when alice and the baby couldn't get out i broke down and sobbed when charles had the baby and may said she wanted to hold him and started humming brahms lullabye. i was sobbing quite hard when mary kept saying my baby my baby. thanks emotional2000 for reminding me not to take life for granted because we never know how long we have.

  • Yes, poohbear1994 this is a very sad epi. But its also a good one as well as well acted/scripted. Anyhoo, you're very welcome for the epi. : )

  • And may we make them proud.

Thanks, Emotional2000...for all your LHOTP vids. Love them, love you!

  • Thanks and you're welcome for the LHOP vids as well!

  • thank you Emotional

  • you're welcome!

  • was it not based on the books though? so maybe the books from memory always had happy endings. you have to remember death was more common in those days, of kids in particular. You just have to wander through any cemetary and you can see childrens graves that say the very young ages.

  • Although the LHOP series was based on Laura's books, the writers did not always stick to true life events. For example, some characters are fictionalized as well as some of the storylines in the LHOP t.v series. However, I do agree that children did often die young back in Laura's day. They really didn't have the medical knowledge that we now have today unfortunately.. :( Anyhoo, thanks for your comment juleigh1959. I am looking forward to reading more! :)

  • i know adam kendall wasn't mary's husband because she never married.I don't expect you to know this but was albert real?

  • No, he was a fictional character added to the show.

  • @labsrock101 No, he wasn't real.

  • I'm sorry but Albert got off easy. Yes him and his friend made a mistake. But it was a mistake that cost 2 people their lives. Mr. Garvey should have been pissed. Let Charles go look for Albert on his own. That wouldn't have been wrong, it would have been HUMAN. Andy and Albert's relationship never the same again. It would have been much more realistic that way. LOL Sometimes this show irritates me. But I watch anyway.

  • Thanks for your comment kathy1977! But, what did you expect? Its LHOP... It always ends with a happy ending... LOL However, I totally understand your frustration regarding the show. Sometimes LHOP can be quite unrealistic when it comes to real human matters of the heart.

  • I agree with you. LHOP usually always ends with a happy ending. Except for the Bunny episode. It could of ended happy if it ended with Nels giving the horse back to Laura and she went fishing with her friend. That would of made a nice ending. But instead it ended with Nellie having a tantrum and breaking everything - that part was stupid, but then so was she. She wanted all that stuff and she destroyed it all. Do you have that episode by the way?

  • yes a very big thank you this epi was great

  • Thanks and you're welcome xLaurax81! :)

  • what a great name.very powerful and emotional,thank you once again!!!^^

  • You're welcome! :)
