Old is when your 6 feet under baby!!!!!! When your dead and gone. More power to Foreigner for still rockin their asses off! All you people gonna get old some day too, ya know. Just the facts.
Lou was sick,,very ill and mick had no sympathy,,hes a prick and Lous voice is what made him what he is today,,he owes a debt of gratitude. If you argue with me,,youre a prick too!
Detroit Rock City, born here, funny thing, never seen a concert at Pine Knob, seen 'em everywhere else but there, saw Steve Miller recording, woulda like to been there,I drive by it all the time while working lol
Ah, yes. feargal with her constant defending of Lou.All anyone has to do is hear the tons of recent clips of Lou on youtube to realize that the tumor robbed him of so much.He cannot sing the Foreigner classics properly anymore...face the facts. I know that sounds mean but you forced my hand with your constant harping about the new lineup. The new lineup has been on the cover of Billboard magazine, performed on A&E's Private Sessions and kicked tail on PBS' Soundstage and have received rave reviews
That's really not the issue. The issue is your obvious quest to say the same disparaging remarks(like a broken record) about the new lineup on every youtube clip. That's the ONLY reason why I engaged you girls(you're all obviously female) on a handful of Lou's clips. If you enjoy seeing and hearing Lou this way then that's all well and good but stop the constant,'Lou is irreplaceable" crap because he was/is very much replaceable. He was killing their shows. He rarely ever sounded half decent.
Yeah, but you started this stupid crap...."Lou is irreplaceable, blah, blah blah". I just tired of seeing it from you and your compadres so I fired back. If you enjoy seeing and hearing Lou this way then more power to ya...but I don't know why you feel the need to blast the new lineup time and time again. All anyone needs to do is compare the clips of the current Lou and Kelly to know that Mick upgraded in a big way. I saw enough of post-op Lou to know(15 shows) that something had to change.
I did not get to see the video, However seen a show called private sessions .And wow!!!!They may not be the original band or Lou . That is like Journey with out my "# 1 IDOL" Steve Perry(woohoo to Steve)Its just the same. But I tell ya Kelly is a "HOTTIE" whoa!!!! ,And I think sounds good. Looking forward seeing them on the coast in oct.
The awful truth is that everyone is getting old (everyday, all over the world!) Should Foreigner perform without Lou Gramm is a personal opinion. I love Mick Jones, Jeff Pilson, and Kelly Hanson. If I get a chance to go see them, I will. I will NOT think I am seeing Foreigner. If or when they release a new album under that name, I will buy it.
But Foreigner IS Lou Gramm on vocals. NOT Lou Gramm now (sorry, Lou...your solo albums were also great), but what we remember.
is there a newer version of this song? when i saw them in concert it was awsome with nice distortion just like in this video but the only songs i can find are the old ones, not that the old ones are bad i just like how it sounded live. this band was so awsome when i saw them!!!!
No what I met by sad was how it's only Mick Jones whose in Foreignr now, and to me FOREIGNER WILL ALWAYS BE LOU GRAMM,MICK JONES AND ANYONE ELSE BEFORE THIS 2000 VERSION!! Thank you!
I feel bad that I couldn't capture the great performance I witness with my pocket camera. (no cameras allowed) However the place was packed and Foreigner rocked. True it's not the same feel as the eighties, but we all have to get old. I still love these songs and was glad to see Mick sing starrider up close instead of from nose bleed seats I got in the eighties.
Mick Jones gave me a guitar pic, and Jason threw me his drumstick. Two separate concerts. One in Tahoe, and one in Marysville. They work well together. I have some awesome pictures of them. Foreigner ROCKS! Kelly Hansen is a cutie.
Starrider is definitely one of my favorite Foreigner songs. It's just so pretty... and sad to me, for some reason. This song should be on Guitar Hero.
NObody is ever the same. People get older, we age, we get better. I think these men should continue to rock until they can no longer weild their guitars and drumsticks. They have an epic and classic appeal to them. WHen you see them, you know they are legendary, and you wish you could have been born fourty years earlier to have been a witness in the beginning.
I just turned 49 yesterday and so true you are......they were unbelievable 30 years ago as they were 10 years back when I saw them last. Some of the best combo of rock and ballads ever.
The 2 key players of the original band were Lou and Mick. Unfortunately Lou will never be back to anywhere near where he was in his day. The choices are to replace lou and continue- or stop. I think the new singer does a great job considering the act he had to follow. Im very pleased with the new lineup with someone who feels like a friend from Dokken and the son of Jon Bonham on drums. I would be happy to attend their concert.
Foreigner is Mick Jones's band and always has been. Kelly Hansen has a great voice and is a really nice guy.
There is more chance of Bin Laden fronting Foreigner than Lou Gramm.
Just think of all the bands who are a cover band as the originals are not there. Foreigner are the best live band currently on the circuit . as much as I loved Lou Gramm his voice is shot through no fault of his own. Studio CD planned for 2008, cant wait.
It will NEVER happen, gamer. There's too much bad blood between them and both love their current situations. For me, Foreigner hasn't sounded this great in years as all of the new guys have given them new life. Even I was surprised by how quickly Kelly won me over and I've loved them since day-one. He's an outstanding frontman. Nobody will ever fully replace pre-op Lou but Kelly has injected some much-needed spice into a franchise which had become stale. It's all about the music for me.
Is there a single original member besides Mick Jones at this point? (I forget if Gimbel is an original) I mean, talk about a Spinal Tap parody..its a shame, with Hansen and Pilson, this could have made a great hard rock band by itself and just gone by another name. But this is not Foreigner.
It would be nice if the original players were present on stage, however that was not to be. I think Mick did a good job putting together a nice cast for the show. I had a great time at the show and enjoyed all those great Foreigner songs. In my opinion I think this show was way better then no show at all. Also Mick is Foreigner since he started the original band and now he continues it with different members keeping it alive.
Hey to a certain extent I understand. I have seen Journey sans Perry and Rollie and I think that the songs are worth hearing, so they should live on...I just think if it is ONLY Mick, then at this point it is too much of a stretch to be believed. Just my opinion.
Agreed - not Foreigner by a long stretch. Lou's voice was too distinctive. It's to the point of seeing a cover band - that's no fun. Not many bands can pull of a vocalist replacement and I feel Foreigner didn't do it well. There have been no original members for several years - except Mick.
Right. Seeing at least a few members - especially key ones - is still marginally okay. But just one? No. Yes, Mick is the founder - but that really means nothing as a band gets it's overall signature sound from all ingredients - notably vocals/guitar. It wasn't a band until Lou & Co. came aboard. Same with Boston - now it's only Scholz.
nice editing man, I like the way you use pictures for the switches between the artists. you really used your recording to its max, and btw i love this song.

Doesn't the saying go... "You'll never forget the first time you lose your virginity or your first concert".
My first concert was Foreigner at Pine Knob 1978.
I lost my virginity to a beautiful Dark haired gal on the same night.
Talk about a perfect night...

Yeh, It couldn't get much better. Foreigner and getting lucky in the same night, especially in the late 70's.
