The only place Brown should be flying to is a prison cell in the Hague, together with his fellow war criminal, Tony Blair. Both have the blood of the dead soldiers on their hands.
Todyo1798 - you are wrong. Gordon Brown was Blair's right-hand man at the time of the invasion; he voted in favour of it and arranged the finances for it. Now he's just making vague suggestions for a withdrawal some time beyond the next General Election.
Obama, the other Illuminate puppet, has proved himself a liar. Before elected he promised a withdrawal within 6 months. Now he's sending 30,000 more soldiers (pawns) and being evasive about a withdrawal.
He arranged the finances because he was the Chancellor, he is also a firm believer in the special relationship, he'll have sure details on the withdrawal by time Obama has his.
Obama also promised to close Guantanamo(is that it?), it was blocked by congress.
I am actually anti-war, I'm not entirely sure why I'm supporting Brown either.
Sure he arranged the finances as the Chancellor, but it was his choice to support, and vote for, the invasion. The invasion of both Iraq and Afghanistan break the rules devised at Nuremburg, upon which post-war international law is based. Therefore, Brown and Blair, along with Bush, are war criminals.
As I said before, Obama is being slippery about a withdrawal date - instead he is escalating the war. They are all treacherous bastards serving more powerful puppet-masters.
If Obama has to devote his policy to please the Republicans, it was a complete waste of time him being elected. By doing so he's now become as unpopular as Bush.
Obamas policies have turned out to very "happy-go-lucky", hes promised things and his advisor's decided not to explain to him how hard it would be to implement those policies. Obama does need to please the republicans, its just the thing about American politics.
I agree that hes becoming unpopular, but the American people seemed to think that the effects would pass and work immediately, they didn't seem to take into account "time" .
That's nonsense. All Obama has to do is order an immediate withdrawal. If he is defeated in congress then the Republicans will be exposed. The fact is that Obama is enslaved to his financial backers, many of whom are oil companies.
If the Taliban overruns Afghanistan that is their business. It's not for us to tell them how to run their country, just as it's not for them to tell us how to run ours. However, the real reason for Obama and Brown keeping the soldiers in Afghanistan is for the security of the Trans-Afghanistan pipeline.
yes but the Talibans cry is "Death to the west!", they need to be stopped, the troops will not be pulled out untill there is a decent Afghan army to resist them.
They sort of need to be neutralized so they can't attack Pakistan or Iran and get acess to nukes.
The bit about oil is true though. The whole thing is mainly about oil, fortunately renewable energy sources will mean that we in the west will not depend on it for much longer.
You are still talking crap. The Taliban did nothing to the West, Pakistan or Iran before the invasion. They are in exactly the same position that we would have been in had the Germans invaded and taken over Britain in WW2 - we would have conspired to employ terrorist tactics against them, both in Britain and in Germany.
Get out of their country and they might just leave us alone.
I know that the had no choice but to use guerilla tactics, and I know that Britain had prepared those terrorist squads against the nazis. But I don't think they will leave the west alone, ther is a chance that Osama might just give up once we pull out, but I'd feel more confident if Afghanistan could defend themselves first.
It's all very well saying there shouldn't be a withdrawal yet, but in the meantime more soldiers are going to be killed or badly crippled.
There is no evidence that the Taliban would continue hostilities against the West. They didn't before the invasion, and they'd need all their resources to deal with their own country. We just can't afford all this foreign adventure nonsense.
I doubt anyone except the most easily gullible would believe anything Brown said or promised. He's recognised as a useless, walking disaster. Now it's come out that they intend to raise fuel duty 15p by the autumn, they are finished. Unfortunately, the tories will be more of the same.
That is true, when Blair made new labour he took away the socialism. It's just a copy of the Tories, and camerons new Tories are just like new labour. It's not democracy when they are the exact same. I'm not saying I would believe him, but if the people believed that he would pull troops out, he stands.
The USSR also sent contractors to build roads, hospitals and schools and to drill water wells; they also trained and equipped the Afghan army.a total of 620,000 Russian soldiers December 25, 1979 and February 15, 1989.for 1000 of years NO country or countries ever conquered or won Afghanistan. Why in 1000 of years of WAR ?
absolutely right resign your climate change tax is a con you have bankrupted this country and stop handing out more debt for the future of the taxpayers if you think the workshy chavs will save you they wont we are all gonna vote you out and your scandalous mps
brown is such a fake imagine being at war and just to top it off brown turns up for a publicity exercise . thats as bad as having harriet harman round for christmas dinner . wake up britain vote these labour chavs out . brown should be paying back our national debt not spunking more on climate change jollys 278 billion in debt . another 30 billion next year typical of labour to screw our economy again
He's an ass, sucking up to Obama, get the terrorists troops out of there country, we have invaded them and they will make our kids pay one day, if i lived there i would kill as many troops as possible, and so would you if we were nvaded.
Many of these "losers" have come from very poor communities , and only realize they have been politically manipulated , when they either loose a limb , or end up back home with nothing to eat and nowhere to live .
I guess you'll always have macho , gun ho twats who want to shoot people , but its not so black and white. As you say the responsibility lies with the evil bastards in Government (Obama , Brown , Blair), they are the real enemy of us all , especially the Afghan /Iraqi people...
Why so many thumbs down for this comment , with all the hate for the armed forces? , When everyone is finished feeling so smug about soldiers in the middle east, they might want to find out how they have fule in their cars , where the meat comes from that they eat , and maybe ask where the tin comes from inside the computer

Blair and Brown were keen supporters of the special relationship, they wanted to keep with America, and Bush was going to invade no matter what.
I'm not going to argue about the war-criminal thing, thats for history to decide.
Obama has to please the republicans as much as the democrats, many Americans on YT were pissed off because he didn't send enough troops.
I don't believe in that NWO bull-shit.

If he does that then Afghanistan will be overrun with Taliban, Khari is to corrupt to defend his own country.
Everyone knows about the republicans, they haven't got anything to loose by blocking the move.
The oil companies were inherited by the Bush regime, they have a shit load of power.

When you consider how previous wars have been fought, the death toll for the current one is immpressive.
I'm with you on the point that the war is costing a shit load, that could possibly be an election winner for Brown,
"Troops out in the next term!"
It will help the economy a lot, and he'll win a lot of support with that promise.
I still think that the taliban may be threat after the war though, but the will probably be confined to the middle east, let Iran deal with them.

The loathsome cyclops may have made a show of being 'one of the lads' by kipping with the soldiers, but he could really make his mark by:
Paying the soldiers properly
Funding the Army properly
Giving them proper tools and vehicles
Giving them radios and guns that work
Making sure they don't have to buy their own kit, or
Making sure their accommodation isn't a damp, festering hellhole back in Blighty.
