RRM Intake V2.0 - 2008 Lancer GTS (CVT) - Inside Car

i have a 08 lancer DE, which in 2008, the GTS had the 2.0L, which went to a 2.4L the following year. mine has a 2.0L, and I just want to soup it up a little bit. But I am honeslty not to smart about this kind of stuff, I mean, what is the difference between this and a cold air intake, ive seen these in cars, but they still have the stock plastic intake in them too, just kind of cunfuses me.

@ianhudon Oh really because I've had this video posted for almost 3 years now and I've yet to be criticized for it. The only reason I made the video was so people with the CVT could hear with the intake sounded like when they first came out with V2 intake. I don't even have the intake anymore, and the car is soon to be replaced by an evo so it doesn't really matter either way :)

The loud noise is normal for a short ram intake with the filter aimed directly at the cabin. I've actually removed and sold this intake because I got tired of it lol.

I got mine installed, is it normal for the growling sound when it hits 2000 RPM? And the 1st gear seem a little slow when taking off. Is this normail?

I was wondering about Turbos on CVT... wont it destroy the transmission?

possibly. it depends on what type of CVT this is. designers have been making cvt's stonger over the years tho. maybe some day they will make gear transmissions obsolete

its hard to make a turbo for the CVT because it puts a lot of stress on the bands and pullys. so the trans wouldnt last long.
