  • Gorgeous song.. i had it on a single and it got so crackly from being played and thrown about over the years.. so glad to find it here.. big thanks for posting..

  • Just to say I still hit this link from time to time... never get bored with it!

  • Ian hunter was lucky to find a woman period as one of the ugliest fucks in rock n roll !

  • Ian Hunter has been married to the same woman, Trudi for decades. Quite an accomplishment given the nature of a rock and roll life! Ian's daughter (and Mick Ronson's daughter) sang backup at the recent Mott Renunion in the UK.

Keep on rocking, and writing those great songs, Ian!

  • @rocktenniscat

so happy to hear they stayed together!

  • Wow! Just found this... brings back memories, this was track 6 of the love of my life's favourite album, by the time it had played hrough to this point we'd be well & truly into it if you get my drift!

Who's the girl in the slides? Who was Trudi?

Saw MTH at the Hammy-O in London last night,n great show!

  • I think Trudi was a reference to Ian Hunter's wife. The girls in the slide are Theda Bara and Clara Bow from the old Hollywood silent films. Thanx for the comment.

  • No... thank you for putting this up... really great & the slides are just perfect for the track.

  • the bridge of this song stay in yer head for ever.

  • i can honestly say i like all the MTH albums, but this one (The Hoople), brings back the most favorite memories, and the most fantastic "ballads" (Through the Looking Glass). i have always told my brother, when i die, i want this album played at some point on that day-to someone.

Trudi's Song, wow-didn't think anyone remembered this one.

  • This brings back memories! Slides are lovely...thank you so much!

  • Mott The Hoople were one of my favourite bands in the early seventies, Trudie's Song is one of my all time favs, I recall that Ian wrote this for his wife (Trudie)

  • Clara Bow and Theda Bara - Good choice!!

  • This is my favourite Mott The Hoople song, and one of my favourite songs ever. Nice visuals, whoever you are. I've really enjoyed this tonight, thank you.
