  • poor kid didnt show up for that usc game LMAO!!!!!

  • One of best linebackers at Ohio State ever. And to add, he has more class then any player I have ever seen in my life.

  • from my high school

  • he is the nepew of wwe gm john Laurinaitis

  • leonidas

  • hes kinda slow and not that strong. but his size, awareness, phenomenal tackling skills, and his ability to put himself in a position to make the play make up for that.

  • BEST LINEBACKER IN OSU HISTORY

  • unlike all of u, i know him and his dad and were all buds

  • Imagine if he would have played hockey at Minnesota instead of football at ohio st

  • Those yellow Minnesota unis are just horrible

  • rob gronkowski showed wut a bitch he is!!! ahahah USC!!!! TRUE LINE BACKER U!!!!

  • @johnnyespinoza1

What are you smoking? USC the true cheater school.

  • WHAT A RUSH!

  • so motivational..

  • They wrote him off because he had a 4.74 at the combine... 40 times are sooo overrated

  • James Laurinaitis is my inspiration

  • glad he are starting LB

  • 1:54 almost a safety

  • @178metallica the refs would not have called it a safety because of forward progress

  • gronkowski owns laurinaitus

  • @madden4325 just once

  • @madden4325 laurinaitus > gronkowski

  • @178metallica Gronkowski drags laurinitus into the endzone. :D

  • Comment removed

  • @178metallica face it, gronkowki destroyed laurinitus, even watch the video

  • Wats the song? Nice vid!

  • @DSTOMPS1 Remedy By Seether

  • Check out livepredictor on what he had to say about James out of college!

  • why doesnt anyone talk about him he was 2nd in rookie tackles and 1st in solo tackles yet stupid thug brian cushing won

  • @seminoleboy96 whats worse is supposedly cushing took steroids and they redid the voting after that was brought up and he still won im wtf.

    Laurinitis FTW!!

  • Laurinaitis > Maualuga

  • @wl0883

    Not even debatable.

  • @wl0883 good one

  • watch my highlight video Dane Mckenzie Defensive Tackle

  • 1:56 I've gotten hit like that so many times playing QB.

  • heres a tip for anyone who is playing james DONT HAVE THE BALL OR U WILL GET SMACKED

  • imagine what he could do with Suh in front of him

  • What is this song?

  • Remedy by Seether

  • This kid has an outside shot at rookie of the year. I couldn't believe he went so late in the draft. It seems like he's doing a better job of getting off of blocks now. I think that was the one concern scouts had leading up to the draft, but he has made the adjustments necessary to play in the NFL.

This is one of the classiest players I have ever met. He did a lot of great charity work in C-Bus, and I'm sure he will continue to be a leader in the community and on the field.

    GO BUCKS.

  • JWall, you are an idiot. We needed an impact MLB and we got one. One forced fumble and 2 interceptions, as well as improving skills in coverage and a leader for the Rams' Defense in years to come. Also, Mark Sanchez is an interception machine.

I mean, I was pissed about not drafting Maualuga at first, but Laurinaitis has been great. And I freaking go to USC right now.

  • didn't James lead the Rams in tackles this year?

  • Yessir. Great draft pick.

  • James was 4th most in the NFL as far as solo tackles and tied for 10th for interceptions

  • Of all linebackers I mean.

  • 1:09 I WAS AT THAT GAME!!!

  • Laurinaitis = defensive ROY

  • Sean Lee, dan connor, paul posluslzny, lavar arrington, jack ham, and there are alot more. why do you think they call us LineBacker U! think they dont call ohio state that now do they

  • Whats the song called?

  • Penn state linebackers are way better than any ohio state backers

  • Such as....?

  • man u r crzy they suck ohio state linebackers is a hole lot better

  • 1:12 was great. just like The Waterboy!

  • lmao I bet at 1:09 the QB was like "oh..shit.."

  • The guy is going to be a monster. Assuming he stays healthy he is going to lead all rookies in tackles and be the DROY. He also had a pick the other day in only his fifth career game. Going to be a great player.

  • Looks like Sam Bradford is a sunken ship!

  • Sam Bradford will meet with the media on Wednesday to discuss his shoulder injury and presumably his NFL future, we'll see then. if not i would go after Dez Bryant-1st round, (trade Jackson) get-Jahvid Best-1st round, Jevan Snead-2nd round, Chris McGaha-3rd round, Walter Thurmond CB, Oregon-4 round, Daniel Te'o-Nesheim DE, Washington-5round, Brandon Carter, OG, Texas Tech-5round(from Eagles), Kyle Calloway OT, Iowa-6, Dominique Harris, S, Temple-7.

  • The Hawk was way better thank Patrick Wills and James.

  • 1.) Spielman 2.) The Kat 3.) Hawk 4,) James 5.) Carpenter

  • Patrick Willis is better

  • Good job...

  • 1:47 Pwned! :D

  • thats one of the best hits in this

  • Hes a beast. Thats it.

  • what song is this

  • Seether - Remedy

  • first time playing contact and my coach sasy this is my position, played eight man in rugby, should be fun. We've been given two weeks from our first practice until our first game. Gonna be sweet, any tips?

  • ya tackle the dude with the ball

  • sure ill enjoy him in st louis ....woo!!!!!!!!

  • I hope they build around him... where you from around here?

  • poopstick buttertoast gravy for grandma

  • james laurinaitis is my all time fav player ever!!!! he kicks major ass!

  • we will see about that

  • RAMS! I saw him play live when my Trojans whooped the Buckeyes at the Coliseum last season! We're coming to Ohio to whoop that ass again! Ah! College! Fight On Trojans! Go Rams! Laurinaitis shall Pro-Bowl. Thanks OSU!

  • Thank you James for staying. You are beyond inspirational.

  • PSU sucks compared to ohio u dumbshit

  • if he would have gone 2 PSU james would have been a first round pick

  • Now i will say this i am i Michigan fan so i hate the Bucks but this guy is amazing and a good guy, I was pissed when the lions passed over him

  • welcome to St.Louis.!

  • @FHSTrojan31 yea welcome to a shitty team!

  • just amazingly fun to watch. always had a big hit in every game.

  • I'm an OSU fan, and I have to say that while James was an excellent college player, I don't see him becoming a pro-bowler in the NFL. I think he'll be a good player and a starter for about 10 years, much like AJ Hawk. He's just doesn't possess the wingspan it takes to really wrap up and dominate NFL sized running backs. Certainly one of my favorite players while I was in school though, he's a terrific guy, and again, a fantastic college player.

  • Such an appropriate name for him, and not just because of his dad's wrestling nickname..... # 33 was really an ANIMAL on the field. Congrats to the Rams for getting him in the draft. Us Buckeye fans are sorry to see him leave us and wish him VERY well. GO LITTLE ANIMAL

  • That'll be me one day. PSH i wish!

  • Nastiest LB come out of college...Mr James Laurinaitis...Go Rams.

  • what happened to that amazing run game by michigan that was supposedly supposed to be unstoppable. Didnt they have single digit run yards after 3 quarters against ohio state? lol Michigan sucks ass. big hairy ones too.

  • Laurinaitis should have been 1st round pick. He is a beast.

  • i totaly agree batman

  • Think Chris Long, and James Laurinaitis coming at the quarterback,I am amazed on our players,we have fresh defensive players, and there out to prove were not giving up that extra inch what so ever,Lets go RAMS!!...2009 is gonna be A great year for my Lou Team,we got what it takes with these great players.

  • Maualuga would not fit in their system and laurinitas is a wrestler type line backer (when he gets hold of you it's over) maualuga is a wrecking ball (perfect for cincy)

  • Mauluga not fit Spags system?!?!?!? Rey is an aggressive fucking beast and thats what spags needs. But i must admit James Laurinaitis is pretty damn good too but i honestly think Rey will be Defensive rookie of the year and an NFL star. Good luck with him!!

  • I think this guy will definately be in the chase for defensive rookie of the year this season

  • FUCKIN BEAST!!!!!!!!

  • I agree with you man

  • I wish him luck in the NFL

  • man this guys a beast!

  • I was spectacle about the rams picking him over manaluga but looks good.

  • dude thats awesome

  • Can someone tell me how his neck grew outward from when he was younger to now?

  • i think his neck is like that cuz it has alot of muscle.

  • I can't believe this guy didn't get picked up in the 1st round :/

  • this guy is guuna rip some head off hopfully the 49ers hahahahaha

  • ABSOLUTE BEAST!

  • What is the name of the song playing in the video?? Thanks

  • seether remedy

  • He's got the same intensity as Kevin Greene, and if he's half the player that Kev was then I'll be a happy Ram. He'll be pretty angry & pissed off that he was only taken in the 2nd round too ~ that ought to amp the animal up even more!!!

    Can't wait.

  • I went to HS with James. He was and still is a dominating player. Too bad he couldn't return home and play for the Vikings!

  • i remeber watching him last year and wanting him on the rams, but with all the hype i thought hed be gon in the top 20...thank goodness he ran a slow 40 time lol..GO RAMS!!

  • This guys a total strapped on A1 lunatic. God I love you coach Spags! Proud to be a RAM again...

  • rams defense is gonna be alot better with this guy in the middle and controlling it......AWESOME

  • James Laurinaitis Is way better than Rey Maualuga. Rey is commercial to me, but one thing for sure is that USC has produce some great D players, or, just players. But thank Spagnuoulo he got James! I feel James is more NFL ready, and we needed Will Weatherspoon to go back to his OLB position like in Carolina. He plays angrier! lol

We got a great pick up!

  • go tennessee!

  • at first i was pissed we ddint get Rey but im so f*****g pumped about this guy now!!!

  • we got rey

    wanna trade? haha

  • We needed a smack mouthed QB on defense. There's no way Linrhan and the old regime would've drafted guys like Jason Smith and Laurinatis, they're too angry.

This is going to be exciting.

  • Already got my season tickets!

  • lets think about this if he would have went into the draft a year earlier he would have been a top 10 pick, IMO this is an excellent pickup

  • If Spagnuoulo says he can be a great MLB in the NFL, I'll take his word for it. Go James L. go Rams. Fuck the 49ers.

  • This guy's a total fuckin' headcase. Thank God he's a Ram!!!!

  • LOL. That's funny bro, agreed!

  • Hell yeah Mace! He will definately be the BPA when the Steelers pick!

  • Comment removed

  • sorry boys.

    he's a ram.

    ;)

  • he is a very neat linebacker, the steelers should get him!!

  • what a beast...

    3 usc guys all ahead?

    its all good man...

whatever team James goes to he

will be an impact player, so its the other teams lost....All 3 LBs from USC are sick nasty to, i guess we will just have to wait to see which LB prospers.

  • How can 3 USC linebackers be ranked ahead of this guy? just doesn't make sense to me

  • not the hits of ray but the smarts

    tackle machine like him though

  • bad ass.

  • maybe 33 to lions? whens the last time detroits drafted an ohio state player?

  • 1969

  • reminds me more of an urlacher than a lewis (in urlachers faster days)

  • and i bring to you the next denver broncos linebacker him and d.j. Williams well dominate next year. hope we get b.j. raji at number 12 and him at 18. farwell cutler good luck

  • u have very good football iq and i respect that. im not a denver fan but him at 18 and raji at 12 would make denver superbowl contender 4 years to come. but i doubt raji fall that low...

  • I would like him or peria jerry in a colts uniform but, James more. Go Big Blue!!!!

  • He atcually ran a 4.7 range at the combine. That is a lot faster than 5. Yes he is no Aaron Curry in terms of speed, but the guy is so instintive. He will translate into a great MLB in the NFL. He is Brain Urlacher Jr.

  • He may be slower than most linebackers but if you saw the combine he ran around a 5 in the 40 thats not that slow its slower than most like i already said but he makes up for it in his awareness because he always knows where the ball is going if you have that you dont need the speed of a corner. He also has badass strength that i can guarantee most linebackers going to the draft this year would have a hard time measuring up to.

  • near the 5's?? damn he has some sick game speed cuz hes nice 5.0 40 or 4.4 40 lol

  • i agree with invictus98. he's a great player and just about one of the most physical lb ive ever scene. i think players should'nt always be judge on 40 times. ya he may be slow as crap but he's a monster.

  • i like how all the nfl draft has become is the "40-time" apparently if your not fast then your not good, i guess guys like jerry rice and tony gonzalez would be drafted pretty late now these days becuz their "40-time" was bad, you've got to be kidding me, laurinaitis has had a great career...film is what matters BUT since we go on 40-time you have ass clowns like vernon davis go top-5...wait.....who???

  • dont be surprised to c him becoming a juiced up actor working for Vince McMahon in about 2 years

  • lol screw you man, creative though.

  • Just like his daddy lol.

  • yes indeed, since that's where near all his hype comes from.

  • def not, i saw him play and thot he was a monster..didnt even know who hsi dad was. and im a psu fan

  • he ran a 4.8 which is still slow but not terrible for a linebacker...he could help out a team such as oh idk.....the colts with their linebacking core

  • wat is this song!!!

  • The Remedy by Seether.

  • what was JAMES LAURINAITIS's 40 time???

  • 4.82 i think...they said he would've been a top 10 draft pick but that 40 time kiled him....

  • ouch, thats pretty slow.

damn, if he ran like a 4.6

than hed be a top 10.

  • He's been reported to run around a 4.6 in his freshman year, he probably just f'd up

  • wat song is this

  • what song is this

  • I'll second that as far as the Giants getting

him late in the 1st RD. They just signed Boley, which is a BIG pickup @ weakside LB, plus it's a band-aid for Pierce and his "diminishing skills"

  • I like this kid, but I feel he'd be a good fit as a 4-3 MLB at the NFL level rather than a 3-4 ILB. As a Charger fan however, I think Ron Rivera would love to have him on our defense simply because he reminds him a lot of Brian Urlacher. How ironic it would be to cut Matt Wilhelm and replace him with another (but BETTER) former Buckeye ILB, lol.

  • go chargersssssss!!!!!!

hope we get a top 5 backer.

    i like follett

  • You mean Zack Follett out of Cal? I hear that the Bolts have been talking to him a lot lately, and it's obvious that Rivera would spark interest in him being a former Golden Bear himself, lol.

  • I hope the Giants pick him.

  • (Cont'd #2) MLB in my opinion because he does lack that compact frame and he think he's more of a weakside 'backer that can just react more and use his instincts as opposed to calling out the plays for the entire defense.

He does tackle well in the open field. I don't think being a middle 'backer plays to his strengths.

Could be a even more productive version of AJ Hawk or could fall flat because of the glarings cons like his teammate Bobby Carpenter.

Defintely worth a late 1st flier.

  • *8 Didn't help himself his last yr. And his stock was sky high after last season.I do commend him for coming back though cause I think he learned to be more fundamentally sound this year.

You don't have to go far for the guy he looks like as of THIS moment, it's former Buckeye LB AJ Hawk.

Laurinatis has the ability to drop back and has good enough hands to cause some TOs.

What I like most is he has his dad's tenacity and has great closing speed when he gets a lane.

    Isn't an ideal..

  • I really don't believe in that "number...is too high to pick this player" thing.

If a guy fits your most urging need then it doesn't matter in which position you'll pick him.

The Raiders most urging need is to stop the run so Laurinaitis is (in my opinion) the better guy for that role (Raji or Orakpo if they go with the D-line).

It remains to be seen if Maualuga is an every down player or if he's gonna be sitting down on 3rd down.

  • He needed to go to the senior bowl. But he fucked that up. Good luck Laurinaitis.

  • Laurinaitis will be a great pick for the Raiders at #7 !

This guy's a beast who will boost our D in an instant.

  • Drafting Laurinatis at #7 is a bit too early plus if Raiders were to draft an ILB it would be Rey Maualuga from USC otherwise i think theyre drafting Jeremy Maclin or Michael Crabtree

  • plays like Brian Urlacher

  • I could see him in DET 20th Pick

  • same i definitely agree Lions need a defensive playmaker and lack almost every position on the field and im a lions fan

  • The Steelers didn't go 0-16 ths year. And they one the super bowl

  • Comment removed

  • With the 29th pick of the 2009 NFL Draft, the NY Giants Select James Lauranitis

  • there is no way at all this guyt is goin 2nd round

    hes goin top 5 defintley

    maybe even the lions

  • wow.... there is no chance in hell the Lions draft Lauranitis unless it is at #20

  • BEARS GET HIM SECONG ROUND

  • the lions need him

  • Hear How Far They Put Him In The Draft? Thats Some Bull Saying Hes Going 28th. Ohio State Has Malcolm Jenkins,Beanie Wells And James Laurinaitis All Going NFL.

  • I hope the Eagles draft this guy. This guy is a beast at linebacker!!!

  • james and ray mulaga (sorry spelling) r both unstoppable i hope browns get 1 of them

    GO BROWNIES
