If there is a boycott on disney products, its just going to make to make things worse in the short term - no one will be employed which means that those with jobs at disney now and are struggling and not successfully feeding themselves and children. the haitian 'economy' would collapse further. there are very few jobs in haiti, just like there is no clean water to drink, no wood to burn for fuel, and no crops being grown locally (all imports). it's either work for slave wages or be even worse off. no one probably put a gun to these workers heads and forced them to work there, since the labor pool is so big. but if they have no other job opportunities, and they want to not starve, how big of a conscious choice is that?

Disney does not run this factory, but contracts their work out with a third party, and they own nothing but only the finished goods so it is very easy to pack up and go when worker demands get too high. Thus, you are always fighting an uphill battle against corporate manufacturer's need to keep prices as low as possible. So if you don't buy a Disney shirt, but opt for a Levi shirt, you are endorsing the same practices. Research fair labor practices and where to get goods made by union workers.
