Wouldn't an all seeing god know that sin would happen - so why is he surprised and disappointed? you keep telling us that he created us in his image. What on earth are we to make of this nonsense?
I prefer the Jesuit Raymund Schwager's take on Rene Girard's scapegoat theory ("Must there be Scapegoats?") as a full explanation for the anger and violence in the New and Old Testaments. I can't see modern Biblical studies going anywhere without it.
This is really an extraordinary series of videos that highlights the fact that the Church has a unique gift in Father Barron and a privileged moment to promote this gift. I hope everyone who watches this video will go to the Word on Fire website and consider helping Father Barron with his "Catholicism" documentary. It is time for the Church to move away from preoccuptions with internal administration, ideological squabling, and the formulation of position papers.

Great talk, but if the Richard Rohr you refer to is the New Ager from New Mexico, why give him a name check?

@wordonfirevideo Fair enough. The implication of your response is reassuring. I was starting to worry.

Fr. Barron goes into some of these ideas deeper on his DVD on the Eucharist. It's really good and I loan it out to friends a lot. Check it out!
