  • Having had the honor of meeting Mr. Barkley. I can say that yes his is a gentlman in person and with fans but I concur athletes are not meant to be role models for anyone's children but their own. Mr. Tebow could learn from this.

  • I always loved Barkley cus hes 100% real, period

  • Today, everyone is expected to be a role model, but everyone has skeletons in

    their closet.

  • RIHANNA SAID: I AM NOT A ROLE MODEL. #RihannaNAVY!!!!

  • he keeps it real

  • "I, for one, don't like the term role model at all. The reason I say that is, for myself, I never considered myself a role model, period. What I did was, I was a man who played basketball as well as he could. And I was never, ever contemplating trying to qualify for sainthood. If there's such a thing as a role model, it has to come from the people the kids are in day-to-day contact with -- their family, their teachers, their counselors, their friends." -Bill Russell

  • If your kids are looking up to NBA "heroes," it's because you haven't given them anything better to strive for. Charles -1. Failure parents - 0.

  • He's right you know.

  • O ok thx

  • Lebron stole this in his commercial

  • @Sk8teCrew23 no he was making fun of barkley because barkley riped his move to miami

  • This is such junk. It's true that more parents need to better understand their role as role models. But anyone in the public eye is a role model. Sorry, Charlie. We ALL have to live responsibly. Just because you are "paid to wreak havoc on the basketball court" doesn't give you the right to abdicate that responsibility.

  • @dcinaglia Fuck that. Take care of your own shitty kids.

  • @CoolerKing37 Oh, I do. I teach them not to be rude or ignorant. Unfortunately, kids of parents that DON'T take care of them will read comments like yours and might think it's okay to talk like that. But hey, thanks for making my point!

  • @dcinaglia Are you really going to complain about the language that was used in a YouTube video, you stupid cunt? Barkley doesn't get credit if some kid gets on honor roll, so why should he get blamed if they turn out to be a fuck-up? Get over yourself and your pathetic kids.

  • @CoolerKing37 Your failure to see that our experiences outside the home do affect us, as well as your continued lack of grace in this argument bring into question how YOU were raised. Actually, you are serving as a good illustration for my point. How'd your parents do? Should I give them credit for your actions? Bottom line, we are a sum total of our experiences (both inside and outside the home) coupled with the individual responsibility to live appropriately.

  • @dcinaglia Don't blame me. It's not my fault I called you a stupid cunt on the interent. Blame Charles Barkley and other professional athletes. It's all their fault!

  • @CoolerKing37 LOL!!! Nice one actually! I especially like how you avoid all personal responsibility for making your own comments. Just like Barkley! But this has gone on long enough. It just goes to show that some people will never change. You won't convince me, and I won't convince you. But hey, it was nice sparring with you. Take care, man.

  • @dcinaglia Ugh. You didn't see the irony of my comment, you literal twat?

  • @dcinaglia Wrong anyone in the public eye is not a ROLE MODEL. why is everybody so obsess with people they don't know or most likely don't give a fuck about you. he does not have a responsibility to take care of your damn kids.

  • One of the most real commercials ever.......they need to run this again.......Barkley was the Anti-Jordan...the game needed that

  • When you sign that contract to become an NBA star, you are automatically a role model. Kids are going to look up to you, it's just facts. Those kids looking up to you, buying your merchandise and wanting to go to your games pays for that contract.

  • @Farleyyyyyyy not true , were in the HELL does it say ''BE A ROLE MODEL''. that's dumb why not a TEACHER someone that cares and try to help you.

  • @MsMichelle103 You're dumb. When players agree for their jerseys to be sold, they obviously want people to wear them (including little kids) you don't wear around a jersey as a little kid and not call them you're role model. You don't wear their jersey for shits n' giggles. If you're a superstar in the NBA kids are going to look up to you, whether you want them to or not. It's just part of being a good player. Learn a thing or two about life before you comment back.

  • I love Chuck Im reading his autobiography i might be wrong but i doubt it. great book almost done

  • so true. so sick of parents trying to censor the world when what they should be doing is teaching their kids about it.

  • Charles keeps it real all the time. I like when he said on TNT " I will love for everybody to be millionaires but everyone want"

  • They need to bring this commercial back, because SOME PARENTS NEED TO SAY THIS!!!!
