Two things on how to play like Bonzo: Don't be stiff. Let the drumsticks almost be loose in your hands. Also, Big thick drumsticks. F***ing mallets lol. The combination of the heavy thick drumstick and the loose grip will actually let you hit harder and thus produce that heavy, in rhythm sound.
I'm pretty sure that the guy playing in this video doesn't actually own the set. It was probably in a shop or something and he was just dicking around. Cut him some slack.

The tom tom is actually a marching snare with high tension lugs, as the rest on the kit are not. It really needs it's own stand as I have on mine other wise it is just too high.
The old '70s steel kits weren't a limited run, they were just discontinued. The reason they were rare was because not everyone liked the sound, they were freakin' expensive and heavy as fuck. Unless you had a few roadies around, there's no way you'd have shifted a kit on your own, especially one like Bonzo's, without getting a Hernia, so only REALLY enthusiastic amateurs bought them.

Ebay, but shipping costs will kill you.The 18" floor tom is twice as heavy as the kick. They also have gone up in value since they are so rare. These are very hard shells to maintain and scratch easily. There are only 100 world wide, I was at the right place at the right time. Good luck!
looks like a cool kit - you probably need to study triplets - whats it weigh? there should be a prerequisite test administered before being able to buy those drums - Bonham was a triplet master ... and somehow he only did single stroke rolls.
Not true, he only used it for 2 years 73-75, 68-69 was some weird kit, 69-70 was a maple Ludwig, 71-72 was the green sparkle Ludwig, 73-75 was the amber (orange) visalite kit, and last 77-death he used the stainless steel Ludwig.
So what if he isn't the greatest drummer, if he's earned the money to buy the kit why does he deserve it any less than you? Sheesh, some people are so stuck up...
That one of the reissues. There are still some originals out there. I have an original 70's one. Although, my kick is only 22". I kind of wish I had a 24" kick but no biggie really.
