He wants the right to own a gun, which is a tool for taking lives in which he wants a law to justify the killing of another human being within certain circumstances (No Duty to Retreat Law).. 'Assisted suicide' is an oxymoron. All of these 'death with dignity' types are perfectly capable of killing themselves without assistance. They just think that making it a 'medical procedure' absolves them of sin.
If you want to do yourself in then go ahead--just don't think you have the 'right' to get someone to do your dirty work. You are going to have to face what you did in the next life, regardless.
The people REALLY pushing this are insurers, who want to weasel out of their obligations.

A doctor or medical person could end a life painlessly and with mercy, suicide has a chance of just maiming someone instead of doing what they had intended. A great part of life is choice, and if you start to makes choices for other people, you truly are anti-life, liberty and personal freedom, which is what the United States was founded on.

The Oregon law doesn't provide for the physician pushing the death button. The physician only gets to prescribe lethal drugs (barbiturates) which the patient then administers to himself. So, Rush's argument, that it makes killers out of the doctors, is just plain false.
R.L. himself IS the counter-argument for the 'the sanctity of life.' His life is worth ending. What business does he have questioning the motivations of physicians when he himself gets Dr.'s to write off schedule and abusive Rx for himself. What a piece of shit.
