  • Excellent, excellent, instructional video, BUT there are some issues uninstalling this program if you so choose; I chose because it wouldn't backup without reporting errors which I couldn't resolve. It also had a habit of closing down my computer and giving me boot problems - (I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit), Loads on the net re this - enter 'gfi backup uninstall' and check it out before you decide .

  • my comp wouldnt run what could i do

  • If my computer doesn't turn on at all... like Windows Boot Error, how do I restore my back up? :/

  • the thing that stops me from backing up, is the free space to back up (i have no where to backup my files) very annoying, any solution of at least 300GB free space?

  • @coolconnuk Do you know how much it compresses it? I have like 30 GB of just videos on my computer. I don't want to have 6 DVDs just holding videos. I'm thinking about getting a large external drive to hold most things.

  • well this would be usefull before i installed macosx on my viista operating system that doesent even work...

  • Your videos are too cool.

  • you can't back up your computer on your computer's hdd. if you get to a point where you need to restore your files due to a hdd failure then you want them to be on a different hdd than the one that just failed you.

  • Excellent instructional video! I am big on backing up everything. I currently use SyncBack, how does GFI Backup compare to that? I am really open to this program and would like your opinion.

  • i like it

  • thats alot of editing

  • Excellent content and quality!!

  • So if i reformat my computer i can recover all my files with this program?

  • say i wanted to format my computer said on there you can restore your files. If i've got to wipe my hardrive wouldn't this programme get deleted.. please reply thanks (nice vid :) )

  • great 5 stars

  • great vid 5 stars

  • Nice video editing

    what program did u use?

  • @Angeljruiz after effects

  • Partition off your c drive and run windows backup and restore

  • can i back up my OS on my D drive then formatting the C drive then installing my new OS and if it fails can i put my old OS on?

  • To backup lisence keys, you anly need pen and paper :P OK, but that's so boring XD

  • my computer is 80 Gigabytes of Hard Drive and I've already used up 67 Gigabytes in my C drive, so does that mean that I won't be able to backup my computer.

  • Good video. I have also used Drive Image XML as a free back up solution and for a paid program have also used Acronis True Image Home. For my driver back up I also like a program called Driver Genius. To back up the registry my favorite free program is ERUNT which has saved my computer from being reformatted when System Restore has failed for me before.

  • If you want somewhere to backup to, backup to your D drive.

  • so okay i have to do a clean install because im gonna get windows 7 ultimate and have vista home premium so if i back my data up using this will i be able to get it back?

  • dude.. i just cant stop thinking about how time it must take to edit all this :O

  • @Zyztematic a week

  • if i use this because i am going to inall windows 7 will i back up my anti virous, router information, and all other files or no

  • Thanks, but I am trying to save my stuff to a disk, and it doent not let me check save to dvd.

  • OMG

    I LOVE YOU SOOOOO HELPFUL!

(cause just today i had to format my computer)

    KEEP THEM COMING!

  • @waqarwillrocku Then you have (or not anymore) a fucking slow bad computer

  • This is one dang good quality video!

  • you said the ultimate right there. "computers are not that dependable", now that's right.

  • I got a question: before one does this backup one should to do a disc image of you boot drive once the operating system is installed updated tweaked and some programs installed, this way if C drive goes BAD... install a new drive, run the disc image and this gigafile data backup... wham bang thank you mam you system is up and running in no time. so why cant Gigafile show us how to do a disc image of a working hard drive?????????

  • I can't use the window backup uption included in window XP due to the 4gig per file limitation with fat32 formated externatl drive. GFI seems to be the solution to my problem since I could split the backup file in multiple 4 gig files. To do so, I want to have more information about the restore option. In case of a virus attack would I be able to format my hard drive and restore my entire computer image if I backed up my entire hard drive previously? Thank you for all your tips!

  • I'll try GFI, it looks like a great program. But I'm just wondering, when I back up my computer using the Vista-backup-tool, can it be restored by the W7-tool?

  • I don't know how you keep finding all of these tips you keep putting out, but keep them coming. Awesome job! Hi from sunny FL

  • IM using a XP Netbook. Will this backup all my Music files and self created files as well, like Norton Ghost? Before I go spend the money? You are a great geek. Thanks so much

  • may be norton ghost is much better

  • thanks for the tips - im backing up settings while installing a new OS

  • i love the music in these videos :)

  • you still use windows 7 RC?

  • You really are just f**cking Heaven sent, thanks man.

  • Awesome, thanks for the tip

  • Windows 7 has fantastic backup options too!

  • thank you!

  • NICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • dude. ur heaven sent!! lol XD.. thanks

  • WTF MY LAPTOP DIED ON MONDAY

  • What program do you use to make your videos?

  • i think he uses Wax and Adobe Elements

  • cool video, what software do you use for film creating and editing?

  • sony vegas, i think

  • cool video all of ur videos help

  • man loves always ur videos

  • what the f*** is up with the huge mouse? it takes up 1/4 of the video!

  • y0uR tH3 B3sT!! I l0v3 y0ur vid30s

  • I use the portable editions of Firefox and Thunderbird which I have installed on my C drive. Then for backups I just copy all of my portable apps to a flash drive periodically.

BTW- Are you still using Wax 2.0 to make these vids or do you use something else now?

  • i wish my computer didnt just crash a couple of days ago

  • i love your professionally made videos :)

  • Good video. I've used since SOOO many years ago a small disquette I have with "norton ghost". Some DOS based program that I can do images of my whole drives from, and then restore them. Haven't used it since XP since like 1 or 2 years ago now, though. BUT it was awesome at what it did, I could completely screw up my computer, boot it with disquette and ask it to restore with the image that I had in second partition.

  • thanks for this video.your video are awesome i like the way you make your video. plese tell us how and what you use to make such a aewsome video.

  • How did you do that giant mouse?

  • Please make a tutorial for how to make such video's :D

  • @mdevylder1991 Making a tutorial about making tutorials?

    Madness, I say!

  • madness?

    THIS IS SPARTA!!!!

    i just had to

  • I use Windows Backup...

  • are all the data saved on your hard drive or is it accessed through the internet?

  • how do you make these amazing tutorials!

GOSH! thank you very much. its greatly appreciated

  • can this software backup files even you formatted your computer?

  • I use gmail for school assignments.

  • I use dropbox for backing up important stuff (school papers, etc.)

  • this might be handy for upgrading os's

  • i miss the "it's the power to arouse curiosity" intro

  • Rule 1: Never store anything important in a computer.

  • It's a good rule. Let's print quickly a few thousand family photos!

  • i got a better software that comes preloaded with a PC, system restore.

  • better? system restore only backs up program settings...so if you're depending on it to restore pictures, documents or music, then your screwed.

  • I think making a disk image of ur hard is the best backup way... although its a bit time and space consuming but u ll get every thing

used to have a dual boot laptop linux & win xp. my win died on me due to hard failure . linux was flexible enough to allow me to run it, then backup the whole drive with its two partitions using the already installed gnu linux software

doing it the free software way under linux was not easy, but i d love to know if the same can be done under win

  • awsome intro did you make it and i do want a responce......

plus a good vid! very instructinal...

  • I use norton ghost.....

  • Better way : Go in ''Run'' type ''regedit''. Click on file > Export. Choose where you wanna backup your computer then tadaaah, you got it. When you wanna restore it, instead of clicking export, click import and choose your file

  • how big are replacement files? could you just back it up on a usb or would you need something a bit bigger like a portable hard drive.

  • If you want your documents, pictures, movies and music backed up and able to share on another PC or Laptop, just use a USB Thumb/Flash/Disk Drive.

Their prices are lowering by each month, so those are a good investment.

  • NintendoMaster66: Hello, sure, if you back up whole harddisk and save it just as an exact image file then you don't need to worry about anything. It's same as freezed mirror image of you :) The most important thing is that this backup can be done only when your system isn't running, so it's mostly standalone program loaded before your main OS starts. In my case I use Clonezilla on CD which is based on Linux and this SW can make backup to many destinations or just via network.

  • The Acronis can backup the system while it's running. And it makes incremental saves if necessary. You can make a schedule with a daily backup, and only the changes will get into the new images.

And for example if you set a consolidation for two weeks, the hdd space wont be a (too big) problem.

  • ive always been wondering what software do you use to edit and create your videos

  • Joshualectronicsinc

I had asked Gigafide what he uses. He uses adobe Premiere pro cs3

  • oh ok thanks for the info bro

  • I have a question. I use Acronis True Image Home 2009 and I back up everything on my hard drive including my OS onto a external hard drive. It also has a recovering thing before my OS starts so I can restore my cloned hard drive. Will this give me my microsoft office, games and everything else back correctly? Please reply! Thanks!

  • thanks man you are a great Haker in all this stuff

  • i love u

  • better software: Norton Ghost

  • what software did you used for making this video ?

  • youre the best computer tutorial maker i know about

  • hi daniel i am trying to register at your website but when i click update profile to register it says

You are currently using PHP4. You must be using PHP5 to use the Simple Video Embedder plugin. Ask your host for information on how to switch to PHP5.

    please help

  • Your like the BEST channel I've ever found on youtube.

  • How about CloneZilla? It's free, and linux based. (can save all kind of systems)

And for drivers, there is DriverMax. It's also free.

  • Im pretty sure Belarc isn't a "Keygen" im guessing it retrieves the license keys of programs you have on your computer, it does not create keys so its not illegal.

  • You named it to my birthday. :')

Haha, thanks alot for this :)

  • Nice to see it back up man - great finds here!

  • lol reupload...

  • reupload?

  • Not a keygen... home edition is free for personal use.

  • Why would it be illegal?

  • Think.... You sell stuff, but others get it for free. I guess that's why it is illegal.

  • Yeah but if you're computer fails and you don't wanna buy any new crap so you get kinda as good stuff for free and it's not the same program but does the same thing so... Why should it be so illegal and gigafide doesn't show illegal stuff :D

  • awesome

  • What would be a nice tutorial is if you showed us how to do all these special effects

  • awesome

  • Woohoo!!

  • Man... I love your effects - you do great work. Keep it up! 5/5... Sadly, those of us who backup have been traumatized before from not backing up lol.

  • thanx

  • first !!!

  • cool thx
