I am interested in your videos though man,I worked in a shop once before but the shop went down hill fast. The artist I am going to know is Great though!!! I would like to talk back and forth with you a little though man if you dont mind.take care and goodluck dude.
great video! im interested to know how much time you spend at the shop? do you have a job on the side? will you be working there after completing your apprenticeship?
@luzguerrerodlc I don't work at that shop anymore, actually. I came back home to pursue my tattooing career and help take care of my little brother in Charlotte, NC. But, those are fantastic questions and heres the answers:
The shop i worked at was open 12-12 on weekdays, 2-2 on weekends... I had one day off a week. I spent a whopping 80 hours a week at that job. Its tough, but if you love it- you'll get yourself through it.
@luzguerrerodlc Two, I did not have a job on the side but i did consider going back to school for a while while i was apprenticing. It's not an uncommon thing to have a side job, apprentices make on average less than a waiter. This may be your passion, but you still have bills to pay while learning.
And three, if I hadnt come home to NC i would have stayed at that shop, or stayed at least with the head artist for quite some time after completing my apprenticeship
@SexyBoyLarson Tips: KEEP TRYING, never stop, eventually someone will have to cut you a break. And keep practicing. Best of luck, The Tattoo Apprentice's Guide will be returning shortly with new episodes, and a new show called Project Gorilla

I agree with the advice about getting an apprenticeship above... just keep at it. There IS no other way.
