Yeah, Romney is the safe choice for all the reasons Charles mentions.

However, IMO MC MUST take a chance with the VP nom because it looks like Obama is going to have an easy victory. MC must pick a female...the only demographic that I think might be significantly moved by the VP choice. I think a female VP could pick up huge support from female swing voters and disaffected Hillary supporters.

If MC picks a generic white guy (other than Romney), it's all over for him.
