Augmented Reality 3d Video on iPad with Kinect

I'm trying out the apple ipad 3 right this moment and I gotta tell you its pretty cool! I signed up to be a tester and surprisingly I get to keep it. Received it this morning in the mail

Actually the Kinect is not working while he's playing with the iPad, it's easy to do:

1) Record a "3d" video with the Kinect, in fact it's a partial 3d video obtained as an array of points coming from the sensor of the Kinect. With 3 or 4 cameras and an extrapolation a full 3d image could be built, also we can add some magic w ARToolKit in the same stream.

2) You read a marker on the iPad, the marker is replaced by the pre-recorder points, so over the live video another layer is drawn.

I think the issue with Kinect's poor imaging is the lack of memory, it needs RAM, and I don't even know if this thing has one. Everybody is afraid of hacking the hardware, afraid Microsoft will date rape'em.

@BennuGDfr keep your eye on that cable, and notice how it actually goes behind the desk in 0:43 in the main video. So yeah - that cable can clearly go behind the desk rather easily.

now combine that with the fact that the ipod's camera is even further to the right than the main camera, and this should hopefully enable your thick skull to understand why you can't see the cable.

@Crypter55 your a retard... the shadow is made from the software, it cant be perfect... the marker card IS A MARKER CARD used AS A MARKER for the software. IT DISAPPEARS because it GETS REPLACED by the 3D IMAGE.
