Not being a melee elitist by any means but I prefer both the music and over all target test in melee and the original to brawls. Brawls felt like a chore to do the same stage with every character while melee and the original have a target test stage specified for each character.

I think the Target Test change was the biggest mistake with Brawl. Instead of custom challenges requiring proficiency with certain characters, they make generic levels that each character can do.

Not to mention, this music is way better than Brawl's Target theme. It's catchy, and it isn't recycled.

Nintendo is especially lazy in their music department in the Wii era. SSBM used an orchestra to record the great Nintendo themes. I even have the album, "Super Smash Bros. Melee: Smashing......Live!", where the New Japan Philharmonic plays rousing renditions of the classic video game music.

In the latter part of the GCN era and the entire Wii era, the music is poorly composed compared to their older counterparts and sound like cheap MIDI files instead of lush orchestras.

Nintendo is such a fool, All they did in Brawl was just remix their Main Theme music in the Target Tests, Wi-Fi Waiting, etc. To me, It's like the same music is playing on each stage over and over again, I miss it when everyone had their own Target Test Stage layout. But in Brawl, Everyone has the same. >.> Nintendo was better off with their games back at their GC, N64, SNES, NES times. Nintendo is so lazy these days. SSB64, and SSBM will own Brawl anytime, and anyday. Nuff said.
