I record and have my mic ready ALL the time just in case I get some killer footage that I might just add to music or throw in a collaborative video. If I have a topic though I like to go on a special road or somewhere interesting for viewers to look at while I blather on.
I haven't had my camera or microphone on me in the last 300 miles. New bike, just trying to enjoy it without any type of distraction. I figure I'll do some after break-in.
I'm a newbie at riding and vlogging, and depending on the weather I'd say I ride about 6 to 10 hours per week and spend about 20 mins vlogging so far. In fact I went out to do a vlog and spent a couple of hours riding around and then later in the day had to take the bike out again cause I forgot to vlog the first time being caught up in enjoying my ride.
i don't think i count as a vlogger... and i hardly ride with my camera... cause i can't talk to it. i'd probably ride with it more if i had a propper vlogging setup.
It used to be about 1/2 the time. Now I am down to once every two weeks. Ran out of topics and the setup and edit was taking long. Had a lot of work and could not afford to not visit with the family. will get back to it soon. I ride everyday to work, same route.
My ratio leans towards the riding side as I comment on my bike, often at around 7 am and 7 pm so I'm really not in the mood to get all my blogging gear together and it just doesn't flow however with my new camera setup which is on it's way that may well change things and there might be a few more completely random vlogs!

@dlinquencious That's smart, especially if you have to use the footage for evidence for someone else endangering you on the road.

If you don't mind me asking, What do you use to record video and voice while riding?

The camera is part of my everyday gear. If I'm on the bike the camera is in.

@7hunted Don't you love when that happens?

Most of the time I have the camera running just to film any interesting, so about 70% on, 30% off.

@gogosor That must suck for editing, having to rewatch a bunch of footage to make sure you didn't miss anything.
